...be blasted into a wall by a crimson fireball?
The warrior lowered his hand cautiously. Long experience had taught him that those who surrendered to the Darkness were usually tougher than they looked---they had to be, in order to command the legions of the Heartless. He wasn't prepared to take any chances with this one.
He was garbed in black jeans tucked into high leather boots, with a forest-green silk shirt. Mirror shades covered his eyes, but he was obviously not a native of Japan. In his right hand, he held a sword forged into the shape of an oversized key, with a golden hilt and silver "blade." Hanging at the bottom of the handgrip ring was a chain that terminated in a small golden triangle, which had an inverted triangle cut out of the centre. His left hand was still smoking.
Setsuna had been right to call him, despite the expenditure of energy required to transport here. A pity that the rules which allowed him to give this world a fighting chance against the Heartless also prohibited his direct guidance. Still, any hope was better than none.
The smallest hope, he knew, could shine a light bright enough to dispel any darkness.
Kneeling by the battered boy, he noted that the young man hadn't quite been slain. The Heartless one had been strong enough to beat him to within an inch of his life, but the finishing stroke hadn't been delivered...and the boy's heart was too strong to surrender easily. That was good.
The warrior removed a length of chain from his pocket and placed over the child's heart. A flare of fiery blue light did the rest.
"Your own Keyblade," the warrior murmured. "Or perhaps, in your case, 'Kiblade.' Use it well, Ranma."
With that, the warrior left. This was not the only world the Heartless had invaded, and other battles demanded his attention, in lands who had no native champions.
Besides, Zelda would be worried if he stayed too much longer.
As he vanished...
