It was strange, Ranma mused, that being a Japanese native, he should become affiliated with a foreign deity. Not that the notion particularly bothered him. Heck, with his life, it even made a twisted sort of sense. Almost every form of supernatural entity he had ever faced had come out of China, after all.
Still, being chosen as a representative of a foreign goddess did come with its fair share of problems.
Like the reactions of others...
Ranma involuntarily shuddered. He could just picture it now. Genma wasn't an issue, heck, the old panda had never been a particularly religious sort, but his Mother...
Ranma shuddered again, unconsciously fingering his neck. No, Nodoka would not be happy.
The woman was sometimes too traditional for his own good, Ranma could grudgingly admit that. He loved her, but...heck, if she had had her way, he'd probably have wound up the avatar of some nice traditional Japanese fertility goddess.
Scratch that.
He would have wound up said fertility goddess's husband.
Taking a brief minute to shudder over the implications of that particular notion, he reluctantly forced himself to drop the issue and turn his attention to a more pressing concern. His mother could wait, after all. The Tendos on the other hand...well...hmm, actually, given the current state of the household, he could probably put that off too. Still...
Sighing heavily, Ranma held his hands up in supplication and wondered just what he had done wrong to wind up serving under:
