Shampoo's skin turned darker, to an earthy brown color and her turned a darker brown. Kasumi and Ukyour's skin became a pale green and their hair became a sapphire blue. Nabiki and Akane's skin shifted into a faded red, while their hair seemed to turn even darker. Kodachi, meanwhile, became paler than before and her hair lighted into a blonde that was almost white. The ears of all the girls turned slightly pointed, and Nabiki and Akane acquired small, black horns to go with their red appearance. Kasumi and Ukyou's ears were frilled, almost like a fish's fin, and Kodachi's hair billowed in the air about her as if there were a wind.
"Shampoo really no like this game," Shampoo complained.
"What the hell happened?" Ukyou demanded, looking herself over.
"Ahhh...now I've truly been gifted with an image worthy of my station," Kodachi said.
"Err, what did you do, Old Ghoul?" Ranma asked.
Cologne sighed and shook her head.
"I did nothing, Ranma," Cologne said. "The wish has determined that they should be made into genie. Shampoo is Dao, a genie of the earth, they have reputations as firm warriors. Kasumi and Ukyou are Marid, genie of the waters, they can be peaceful and serene, and they can be changeable as the waters. Nabiki and Akane are ifrit, genies of fire with reputations for mischief and anger. Kodachi is a djinni, a genie of the air, one of the noble race which is more flighty and chaotic than many of the other genies."
"How does this make us get along?" Akane demanded.
"Consider your feelings," Cologne said. "You are now all genie bound to one master. There is no jealousy between you, in fact you should be feeling a sense of sisterhood."
"Oh my, yes," Kasumi said, blinking.
