Only something did go wrong, apparently a singularity had slipped into the space lane. The GP ship had discovered this, the hard way by running head long into it while in warp. Now they were light years off course and the ship badly damaged.
“The captain’s detected a habitable planet in this system. We’re going to try to make planet fall Mitito.... I’m going to help him! You’ll be safe here.” Her husband told her. Before she could raise a voice in protest he had shoved her into a crash couch, and shut the door. The next thing she knew the entire ship was shaking. Then she banged her head on the roof of the couch, and afterwards only knew darkness.

Pain. That was the first thing Mitito was aware of. Slowly she cracked open her eye, wincing in pain as a trickle of blood fell down her face. Her eyes opened wider, a huge gaping hole in the crash couch became apparent, whatever had pierced the couch having missed her by scant feet.
She stood up and whimpered in pain again. Her left arm dangled beside her, broken most likely. She limped out of the hole and looked around. She walked down the hallway towards the bridge... she had to...had to find her husband!
20 minutes later she stumbled back down the hallway... the bridge had been a disaster. She had counted 4 bodies’ there, which accounted for the crew of the ship, but where was her husband? She stumbled past the distress beacon, barely noticing the Unable to transmit, signal not received
Mitito glanced at a hole in the side of the ship, sunlight pouring in from it. Maybe he was outside? Clinging desperately to that hope she painfully began to head to the hole, slowly crawling over wreckage and debris. Eventually she made it to the top and stumbled outside.
The sun temporarily blinding her, Mitito raised her good arm to shade her eyes. Looking around she gasped, there not far from the wrecked ship lay a body. It had to be her husband! Tears stained her eyes at the unmoving form below...that had to be her husband; she could tell he was dead. Mitito was so distraught that she didn’t notice....
