"Ranma," Nabiki whispered, "don't think I'm going to forget about that pany incident. I don't know when or how, but you will pay."
In responce, Ranma's eyes snapped open wide, "Oh, jeez Nabiki, you don't have to take it that hard."
"Soatome, there is a reason why even that old letch of a master never groped me. It is just not advised to piss this Tendo off!" Nabiki seethed in a whisper back at the eleven year old Ranma.
With an audible gulp, Ranma began moved a bit closer to his mother. It was an almost automatic reaction to move away from a threat of that nature. Unfortunately, his action did not provide the least bit of protection from Nabiki.
Looping her arm around Ranma's arm, Nabiki whispered in Ranma's ear, "I'll grant you a pardon from your most inappropriate behavior, but you'll have to do something for me first."
Ranma was a little unnerved by Nabiki wanting to make a deal; they never paid off for him in the past, so why should it be any different now, right? Still, the alternative didn't seem to be very... Pleasant. With that, a rather deflated Ranma agreed to listen to the terms through clinched teeth.
Grinning like the cat who caught the canary, Nabiki spoke loud enough for Nodoka to hear, "Ranma, I think a proper man should be a little refined. Why don't you go to school with us for a while, and learn a few manners?"
Nodoka came back from whatever thoughts she was having to take part in the conversation, "Why Nabiki, that is a lovely idea! I see you are concerned about Ranma's well being; what a lovely wife you will be! We will have to see what Mr. Tendo thinks of Ranma staying with his lovely fiancee for a while!"
Ranma, for his part, simply turned white. Refinement? He wasn't sure what that meant, but it sounded an awful lot like something he wanted no part in. "Uhm, Nabiki?" he asked.
Patting his shoulder, Nabiki explained, "You owe me, Ranma. It is either this, or..." She let the idea just sink in for a moment, before continuing, "We could find another way for you to pay for that PINK incident.
"Eep!"
Raising an eyebrow, Soun didn't quite understand what Genma could be talking about.
"She.. She may want to teach him some of her school. That couldn't possibly be good for continuing the dojo!"
Soun wasn't sure, so he questioned Genma, "Friend, I'm sure Ranma will be able to take the better parts of her art without spoiling the family art. Shouldn't he?"
"I dunno, Tendo, he is still impressionable."
"I'm home!" came Nabiki's voice through the house, followed by Ranma and Nodoka.
"De... Dear," Genma spoke with a nervous twinge. She was here. His soul immediately torn between his wife and the training he felt was so important. He wasn't concerned about just Ranma becoming soft, but himself as well. That woman... He loved her... But... Even the memory of the coddling she gave her entire family warmed his heart too much for what he needed to do to make Ranma the greatest martial artist of all time.
Before anyone could say another word, a gleeful voice eminated from the kitchen, "Dinner will be ready soon!" Kasumi was thankful to have a new guest, and maybe Nabiki's friend's mother... Hmm.. Oh! Her Auntie could teach her some new recipies!
