Nabiki thought for a minute, then replied, "Well there are Ukyo and Ryoga to think about. You shouldn't have to worry about too many of the fiancees your father set up, at least those after you were this age, before. Ryoga, you don't even have to meet up with him if you don't want to. Then, there's the Kunos and all those magical princes kidnaping Akane in about five years. And, we'll probably have to see about renewing the wards on Happosai's cave..."
"Nabiki! Stop!"
"What?"
"I meant today, here and now. What do we do about my mother?"
"Oh, I guess we can try and do something about getting her off your back about that 'Man among men' thing.."
"No! I meant, do we eat here or at your house?"
"Have you ever thought about something other than food?"
"Sure! There's training and sleep," Ranma said confidently.
"We have got to get you off of that one-tracked mind," Nabiki groaned. "But, I think it'll mess with the panda's mind if we eat dinner at my house."
He chuckled nastily. "You got that right."
Nabiki phoned Kasumi about inviting Ranma's mother for dinner. Kasumi cheerily accepted, believing it would be a pre-pre-engagment meeting (or a pre-omiai) for her younger sister. Soun went into another happy dance when Kasumi told him that Nodoka would soon be arriving. Genma had not returned, but Akane was not happy about having these guests, and that icky boy in particular.
As they were leaving for the Tendo dojo, Ranma occupied himself with trying to get Nodoka to actually come right out and say what she meant when she thought of how she wanted Genma to make Ranma a 'Man among men'. Of course, he got the same story of Genma peeping on her and stealing women's panties.
"Mom. Do you really want me to steal your panties?"
"That's... that's... different," she rationalized. "Certainly, I'd expect you to... ogle girls of your own age."
Ranma's eyes started to twinkle. "If it's that important to you, I'd steal Nabiki's, if she was wearing any."
"What do you mean? I always wear..." she trailed off as she found no cloth between her skirt and her skin after a surreptitious check. The pink cloth Ranma was dangling from his hand seemed to stress the point. "You... you... you hentai!"
Nabiki crashed into Ranma, dropping them both to the floor. He began playing 'keep away', tossing the treasure she obviously wanted back from hand to hand just out of her reach. In a voice couched low to keep Nodoka from overhearing, he said, "Didn't you think I could do that? I always could, after I learned the Amaguriken. I just didn't see the point in doing it, when it was just the ol' lech who got off on stolen panties."
"So why do it now?" she grated out between clenched teeth, still struggling to get to her panties.
"Remember the seppuku agreement? If I can get her to tear it up now, I don't have to worry, later," he said smugly.
"Then why didn't you say something?" she retorted angrily.
"Do you think you could have acted this angry, if I did?" He asked innocently in voice, while a devilish grin adorned his face.
"Oh, my son is so manly!" Nodoka exclaimed.
The two suddenly froze after realizing the position they were in. Nabiki was reaching for her panties, laying on top of and straddling Ranma, their hips grinding into one another. The back of her skirt had flipped up behind her and Ranma was softly squeezing the flesh of her bare bottom (so she could not get up and reach the panties in Ranma's hand, you perverts. He is still naive about intimacy) for all the world to see. The world being, in this case since there were only the three of them in the house, Nodoka.
The two swiftly broke apart to opposite sides of the genkan, Ranma tossing Nabiki's property back to her.
"I'll get you for that," she said as she punched Ranma and left the entranceway to replace her personal property.
