"Well," Nodoka was not used to taking financial advice from a pre-teen, "I can do this, yes. But why?"
"Auntie," Nabiki began in a voice that was half-way between pleading and whining. "I'm just worried that my family has left too much to risk. If something goes wrong, we won't have anything left. Only I can't do this myself."
Nodoka nodded, still not entirely convinced.
"Please, momma?" Ranma voiced. With a brief look at Nabiki, warning her to be right, he continued, "I trust her."
Nodoka looked at her eleven-year-old son. Even as young as he was there were distinct hints of the handsome man he would become showing through already. "Alright, alright. It will take me a few minutes to re-arrange these things. Why don't you two go outside until lunch?" With that, she stood and left.
Ranma and Nabiki headed to the Saotome home's back yard. It wasn't anywhere near as big as the Tendo yard, but it was still larger than most. A rock garden near the house was the only thing of note there.
Nabiki sighed as she sat down. "I hope this helps."
"I'm sure it will, Nabiki." Ranma replied.
The two sat there in silence for a few moments.
Getting an idea, Ranma stood and approached Nabiki.
She looked up at him as he neared, raising an eyebrow as she saw Ranma start to grin. "What's up, Ranma?"
"You're it," he stated, poking her shoulder before she could react and running off.
"Hey!" Nabiki shrieked and then took off after Ranma.
Nodoka, on the phone trying to get both Saotome and Tendo finances rearranged as Nabiki had instructed, smiled as she saw the two children playing outside. It was obvious her son was holding back his speed, but then again, what would be the point if Nabiki couldn't ever catch him?
