Her thoughts drifted to those of her child, her son Ranma. Like all Mothers she valued her son's existence and welfare above all else. And she regretted she allowed Genma to talk her into taking himon that damn training trip when he was barely 2. As soon as Ranma was weened off the breast, and was now taking solid foods Genma was off to train him. Thinking back on it she felt even more stupid by agreeing to the seppaku pact Genma made. Instead of keeping Genma in line her unmanly husband had used it against her to keep Ranma in his clutches.
Once Nodoka had begun to see the true chaos in Nerima that surrounded her son, she went to Nabiki & Kasumi demanding information. After being filled in, and getting some input from Ranma concerning the training trip she felt ill with herself, allowing Genma to put her baby boy through so much trauma she wanted to use her katana on her husband so much, but restrained herself.
If anyone would ask WHY she married Genma in the first place her reply would be he wasn't always such a bastard. When they first met, and then married Genma was like Ranma, good as gold but had his faults like any normal human. It was his training under Happosai that did him in. While Genma HATED Happosai the old pervert's ways (save panty stealing and lechery) ingrained in his subconciousness and thus made him as he is.
Her son's only happiness it seemed stemed from his relationship with the Diggers sisters. Ranma had told her he had met Britanny & Gina way back during his training trip when they were visiting in Japan with their Father. They parted after getting to know each other for a month, and wouldn't meet again for years when Ranma found himself stuck to the windshield of Kevin 'Ace' Koss's C141B. After unpeeling himself and scrambling into the plane Ranma was delight to see the two sisters (after they calmed him down when he saw Brit's hybrid form) and after sharing an adventure it didn't take much for Ranma and the Diggers to hang out or adventure together on occasion when Ranma could break free of Nerima to join them. Nodoka herself had the pleasure of meeting the Diggers family a year or more ago in person. She found their lives interesting, she hit it off quite well with Theo & Julia Diggers.
Things seemed to go uphill for her son when he finally broke free of Nerima and the clutches of his Father & Soun's after the failed wedding. He was proud of how Ranma and Akane handled themselves with that situation like responsable adults. At one point she thought Akane was a violent tomboy but Akane proved her wrong, and Nodok was happy that she did. After tying up loose ends Ranma went to stay with the Diggers accepting an offer to become a full-time student of Julia's.
Nodoka smile grew wider as she recalled her discover of Ranma dating the Kryn Empress Jalliele'Brea. She knew Ranma had a crush on Britanny at some point, but he didn't nor could he follow up on it, and it seemed that Jalliele was in the same boat concerning Stripe Britanny's husband.
She was very estatic when she recieved a call from Ranma telling her he had proposed to Jalliele and she had accepted! Now her manly son was married to someone who loved him dearly, and her son being happy meant she was happy. Especially when her son and daughter-in-law guraunteed that she'd be a Grandmother sometime within the next year whenever Jalliele got pregnant.
" Grandbabies, grandbabies, gonna be a grandmama." Nodoka sang lightly with a giddy tone. Images of little Kryn and/or human children running around dancing in her head.
