This man was... Awesome Taro.
Yes. he was no longer named, "Pantyhose Taro". When Ranma ahd come back from that trip to Aebra, Ranma was new and improved. Taro had come to Nerima aas to test his might against the pig-tailed martial artist. After all, Taro wanted his name changed, and he knew that if he could defeat the cross-dresser, than his dream of defeating Happosai would become a reality.
Of course, Taro had not been prepared to face a Ranma who had been enhanced greatly by alien artifacts. And the battle between them had been rather one-sided, leaving Taro feeling embittered, and with a want for revenge...
However, Ranma helped him.
The pig-tailed crossdresser, whom Taro always thought was just a selfish, egotistcal, sex-changing freak, had actually wanted to help him.
Of course, Taro was sure that the crossdresser was just trying to usew him for some nefarious plan to better himself... Or at least, Taro was sure Ranma was just looking for a way to make sure Taro was humilaited... Again...
But no. They actually had a talk. A plan, simple, civilized talk.
From there, Taro realized why Ranma was trying to be nice. Ranma just wanted to end the chapter of his life in Nerima. He needed to close up all the loose ends. And that meant ending all thet rivalries that he could, and hopefully, be friends with them. And he wanted Taro as an ally.
Sure, the months that passed were a bit of an annoyance to Taro, but Ranma had genuinely helped him. And, he was even kind enough tot each him two Chinese Amazon technqiues. The Bakusei Tenketsu and the Katchu Tenshin Amaguriken. With those techniques to help taro up his speed and strength, Taro knew he had become more like the monster people thought him to be... At least in the physical aspect anyway...
And, while they were training together over the span of time, Taro learned of Ranma's experiences, and learned teh reasoning why Ranma wanted to break off ties to his problems. "Fem-boy found a woman to love. A cat-woman no less."
Taro chuckled. Ranma had been level with him, and told Taro of MOST of his experiences with the Diggers. Taro made a menta note to visit Atlanta one day. Someone like him could seem 'normal' there.
"Especially with my new name." Taro said to himself with a grin. He was now AWESOME TARO!!! Thanks to the training Ranma gave him, Taro went and had an honest battle with Happosai... And beat the tar out of the old pervert! Ranma even stayed to witness the fight, AND make sure that Happosai kept his end of the deal...
"Hell, Ranma even followed me back home to China, to make sure Happosai changed my name..." Taro said. THAT was probably the main reason Taro felt like he could trust Ranma. The pig-tauiled boy did everything in his means, to make SURE that Happosai changed his name.
"AND I AM AWESOME TARO!!!" Taro yelled out at the top of his lungs, laughing heartilly.
Sure, 'Awesome Taro' wasn't that great a name... btu after spending most of his life with the name 'Pantyhose Taro', almost any change was a good one.
