World Watching: The Viewer [Episode 4797]

In a cavernous room sat a man. Darkly handsome, he was as frozen into his seat, his eyes being the only things about him that moved. The room, which had no discenable bottom, looked to have video screens on every available surface, save one. On this one, there was a massive curved display that showed a series of numbers and lines that would have driven even a mathematician mad.

Pressing a button on the chair, the man sat quietly as he and the seat were moved by some moved by some invisible force to the air. As it moved, he scanned the screens without stopping, but seeming to see what was on them. They bore images familiar and strange at the same time. No sound came from any of them, although the feeling was that there could be.

One showed a Chinese city in fuedal style that had cars moving through it. Another presented the scene of James Dean acting with Samuel L. Jackson. On a nearby one, a steam airship flew over London. Below that, a vampire went to the corner store to pick up a carton of eggs for her human husband's family's visit.

Worlds passed on screens that crossed dimensions without notice.

Finally settling on a screen, the viewer looked to see an alternate version of someone most in one universe would know from:
