Desert Treasure: Buried Treasure [Episode 48136]

by Disruptor

Walking out of a tavern, Milly was a bit concerned about a rumor that she heard. She frowned as she went to meet with her partner Meryl Stryfe. She spotted Meryl and their companion Vash

"Hi, Milly. What's up?" Meryl asked.

"A rumor that there is a treasure trove of technology buried in that mountain. It seems pretty consistent. Most people have tried finding it, but only come across corpses."

Vash frowned. "I'm not letting anything kill anyone if I can help it."

Without another word, Vash headed towards the nearby mountain.

"Here we go again," Meryl muttered.

The duo followed after Vash.

"Stay here," Vash said. "This is going to be dangerous."

"Yeah, right," Meryl replied. "We're assigned to keep an eye on you."

Milly said, "Please, Vash. We want to stop this killing as well."

Vash sighed in defeat and allowed Milly and Meryl to come with him. They soon found a cave entrance.

"Anyone there?" Vash asked, as he readied his revolver.

Hearing no answer, he slowly made his way into the cave. Inside was a two meter long cylidner with a transparent window. Vash stared at the device with a look of irritation and relief. Inside of it was what appeared to be a 16 year old girl with blonde hair done in a pony tail.

"A cryo-capsule. I'll see if I can awaken her."

Milly asked, "She'd not dead?"

"Ah. No. She is in suspended animation. I wonder how long she's been here."

Vash went over to the cryo-capsule and pushed a few buttons. The capsule opened up, letting the group see the girl fully. She was dressed in a yellow jump suit with red highlights and had very weird boots on. On on arm was some strange bracer.

Vash grabbed one shoulder of the girl and gently shook her. "Wake up."

Suddenly, he stopped and rapped his fist on her shoulder and then her forehead.

"Meryl, I'm going to need you help moving her."

Confused, Meryl went over to Vash and looked down at the girl.

Vash said, "Grab her feet."

After doing so, Vash grabbed her shoulders. "One-two-three. Lift."

The two lifted the gild out of the cryo-capsule and with some effort stood her on her feet.

Vash pointed at the girl. "A robot."

Meryl and Milly stared.

"She's pretty human looking for one," Milly said.

Vash shook his head. "Doesn't matter. Milly, would you please search for any panels or buttons on her. I will be facing away."

Milly got the point and lifted the girl's shirt. She stopped when she saw the outline of a panel on the girl's back. Pulling the front of the shirt down, as much as possible. Milyy exposed the entrie panel.

"You can turn around now. The guy who built her wasn't lecherous."

Vash turned around and saw Millie pointing at the robot's back. Hrrying over, Vash opened the panel and saw lots of buttons. One of them had an O with a line coming out the top. Vash pushed that button and heard a strange sound comming from the girl. Vash closed the panel and let the shirt drop.

Turning the robot said cheerfully, "Hello, my name is Roll Light."

Vash eyed the robot girl. "What are you doing here?"

Roll shrugged. "My creator Dr. Thomas Xavier Light wanted some of his knowledge and work preserved. Near the end of his life, he programmed me with all of his knowledge and theories."

"How long have you been here?" Meryl asked.

"I have no idea. My internal clock was broken by Bass shortly before I was put into suspension."

Vash bit his lower lip and asked, "How much knowledge do you have?"

Roll sighed, much to the suprise of the trio, and replied, "A lot. If I had the tools and materials, I could build a fully functional automated starship."

Meryl said, "You are acting way too human to be a robot."

Roll smiled. "Thanks. That was my creators intention. A seprate race that would work alongside humanity."

Vash rapped his cybernetic arm against his leg. 'A person who is dangerous, but innocent. I'm going to have to watch over her.'
