Rogue looked at him and shrugged. "That's good to hear, but I have something I want to do first."
"Like what?"
"Going to... our room."
"What's there? It's a bit early to go to sleep."
"A hot bath."
"Huh?"
"I don't know about you," she growled, "But I'm wearing about half the sand around here on me, and I'm not about to put my new clothes on until I get clean!"
"Oh... I see. Good idea."
"I'm so glad that you approve," she told him dryly.
"Well then, since I don't need one, I'll let you take the bath, and I'll go and find us some place to practice."
"Sound like a plan."
A little while later, Rogue was luxuriating in a nice hot bath in her shared room. She had never felt so clean in her life, even there had been a time when she had been. When she had been a prisoner of those crazies, she had never thought that she would ever get a chance at a simple luxury like this again. But with Vash's assistance, she had gotten away from them and had a chance to be free once again.
He was a different one though. She'd never really met someone as selfless as him before, especially for someone who was supposed to be such a great gunslinger. Under him, she knew that she would learn much about how to protect herself, and if she had to, others around her. There was no illusion as to the fact that it could be difficult, but she had realised that it would likely take a long time back when she asked him. At least he was handsome enough to not to be a problem to look at...
'BAD thoughts!' she growled mentally, and idly balanced one bare slim leg on the edge of the tub. All that talk about them being a couple was getting to her. Their words were putting ideas in her head that she was sure that she would never have come up with by herself. The two of them were just teacher and apprentice, that was all. Nothing more, nothing less. And if anyone else should decide to say something about it, then good for them.
But she realized that Vash had been away for a while, and that meant that she should relly be getting ready. Her clothing was already spread out on the bed, so getting dressed would be a snap. Once she got out of the tub, she would be able to put on her clothing and be ready for her first lesson.
Still she was loathe to get out of such a thing, and lethargy made her want to take her time. Sitting up, she let the warm waters cascade off of her shoulders and chest as she stretched her arms out languorously.
Which was when the Ranger burst in. "Hey Rogue! I found the perfect place for us... to... train..," he trailed off as the sight of the bathing girl.
"AHHHHH!" she screeched, covering her breasts with her arms and plunging herself into the water up to her neck.
"Get out! Get OUT! GET OUT!" the pale girl screamed to the blond man, tossing her bathing implements at him.
"S...sorry..," he stammered and stumbled backwards into the hall.
"Don't be sorry! Just stay out!" Rogue told him, having stepped out of the tub with a towel covering her, and slammed the door in his face.
"Lovers' tiff, eh?" commented Deloris from where she watched.
Vash hung his head and groaned while:
