Tenchi/Slayers: Present Revelations [Episode 49045]

by Demonhawk01

It was an interesting year. Galaxy Police Detective 1st class Mihoshi turned 24. Swordsman extraordinaire Gourry turned 18. The GP reeled from the loss of its newest starship, destroyed in the apprehension of space criminal Dr. Clay.

However there was one event that overshadowed the lot of these. On a certain planet isolated from the galaxy, the Mazoku lord Phibrizzo was killed. As he was killed the barrier that enclosed part of the slayers planet shattered and vanished.

This had many effects, it opened up new lands for kingdoms to explore, and it set up the fun relationship between a certain dragon priestess and a trickster Mazoku. It set up new places for a certain red headed sorceress to blow up.

However that wasn’t the most important thing the destruction of the seal did. Oh no the most important thing wasn’t a big event. In fact no-one notice at all. Rather the seal’s destruction finally let a certain beacon’s distress call escape the planet. A distress call that shot out of the planets atmosphere and into the heavens, towards a very receptive audience.

Well perhaps it’s not accurate to say no-one noticed. One being did after all.

----------------------

IN another realm a sea of gold rippled. Finally a form coalesced in the sea. If the form looked like Lina Inverse, than it could be forgiven. After all it's not often the Lord of Nightmares chooses an avatar. Idly L-sama watched the rusting hulk that had crashed on her planet 20 years ago. She watched as the simple message shot up into space. Spreading her senses further she smiled. Perfect, the signal would do something she had wanted for a long time. The signal would bring 2 of her three daughters back to this planet. Back home for a visit with mommy so to speak. She could hardly wait...

-------------------------------

Papers, papers, papers. That always seemed to be what he dealt with. The head of the GP leaned back and sighed. It was especially busy now. What with Kagato having destroyed some of the GP’s best and brightest prior to his destruction in the Sol system. Then there was that Dr. Clay fiasco. Not only did they lose more ships and personal in that event but the brand new starship was destroyed as well.

And of course with the GP still suffering from these two blows every criminal in the galaxy seemed to think they had a free ticket to do as they pleased. Of course the Galaxy Police weren’t so short manned that they couldn’t deal with the average police scum, but still they were spread pretty thin.

The Head of the GP leaned back and rubbed his forehead. “Plus I have to find that leak to the Jurain government as well.”

He smirked at the thought, as he doubted even the resourceful Funaho knew that he knew that she had a spy in the GP. He had suspected it for a while sure, but the Kagato incident clinched it. Did they really think he wouldn’t find out about the alteration on the reports Mihoshi gave? Especially considering she was HIS granddaughter? A simple comparison of Mihoshi’s personal letter to him and the report presented, showed glaring inconsistencies in the official report. Not that he begrudged Funaho her spy; he could understand why certain things about the Kagato incident had been left out. Still it was the principal of the thing. He probably wouldn’t do anything when he found out who the leak was, but such information was always useful to know.

As he sorted through the papers he paused. There before him a red light flashed. Odd he didn’t expect any emergencies today. He pushed a button and data scrolled before him.

His eyes widened. It couldn’t be.... could it? He read and re-read the data before him. It was! The distress beacon of the GP Cruiser Reliant. The one that had disappeared 20 years ago with his daughter and son-in-law on it...

He frowned. He should investigate it, but the GP forces were spread so thin. There were no available ships. None except....

He paused and glanced at the star map before him. None except the lone cruiser assigned to the Jurian special zone, there by permission of the Jurian royal family. Mihoshi’s ship. Should he? But no... The answer was already there. He had no choice; quickly he sat down and dictated a quick message to be sent to Mihoshi ASAP.

---------------------

The Masaki home was its normal self. Explosions and chaos abounded as Ayeka and Ryoko fought. It was in the middle of this that the GP delivery man arrived, and he was all to glad to take Mihoshi’s signature and get out of the madhouse.

Tenchi and Sasami looked on curiously as Mihoshi read the missive to her. Then they both gasped, as she began to sob. The ever cheerful detective sobbing in sorrow was odd enough to even stop Ryoko and Ayeka fighting. Washu poked her head out of the lab and joined the gaping group, curious as to what could cause her biggest headache to bawl like that, outside of her soaps. Finally Tenchi decided to break the silence and walked up to the huddled Mihoshi. “Is something wrong Mihoshi?”

Mihoshi turned and glomped onto Tenchi, bawling her eyes out. Ryoko and Ayeka moved to interfere, only to be stopped by a glare from Sasami. “Teeenchi..... It’s my Momma and Poppa.... they...they finally found their ship...”

Mihoshi bawled out the story, about how as a four year old she had heard that her parents’ ship had vanished on route to Altau V. How they had searched and searched, but found nothing. Eventually it was presumed that the ship was destroyed and all hands were dead. She goes on how a distress beacon was just heard from.

“But the worst part is....*sniff, sniff* Yukinojo is broken and Washu-san said he won’t be fixed for a month!! I want to find Momma and Papa now! WAAAAAAHHHH!!” Mihoshi continued to bawl into Tenchi’s shirt.

Sasami frowned at that... then blinked. “I know! Ryo-ohki could take you Mihoshi!”

“What? When did I agree to this?” Complained Ryoko, who blinked as Mihoshi was suddenly before her gripping her shoulders.

“Oh please Ryoko let me use Ryo-ohki... I really want to find my mom. You can come to...and Ayeka and Washu and Tenchi and Sasami!” Mihoshi pled with the space pirate. Ryoko opened her mouth to say no, but Sasami interrupted.

“If you don’t let Mihoshi find her parents I’m not cooking!” She stated.

That did it Ryoko reluctantly nodded her head. Mihoshi clapped with glee. “Oh goodie! Tenchi? Will you come with me to? I just want you to meet my parents?”

Tenchi still a bit stunned, nodded his head, not quite aware of what was being asked. Ayeka and Ryoko squawked in protest at the same time. “WHAT??!!! Well if Tenchi’s going then so am I! Hey! Quite saying the same thing I am!”

As this quickly degenerated into another Brawl Washu smiled and winked at Sasami. “Well then I might as well come along to, to keep the children out of trouble, think you can help me Sasami-Chan?”

Sasami Giggled and nodded her head. Washu smiled and struck a pose. “Then it’s decided! Tomorrow we leave on operation RESCUE MIHOSHI’S PARENTS.... and hopefully get her out of my lab for an extended period of time.”

Tenchi groaned he should have known she had an ulterior motive. “Washu-channn...”

“Ooops... did I say that out loud “Washu sweat dropped.
