Well, that was not entirely true. The Pyrokinetic Zolf seemed far more intelligent and competent, but he seemed to be follower and not a leader.
“Tonight, we attack the town,” he stated.
One of the men raised his hand.
Vega’s eye twitched. Might as well throw the garbage a bone... “Yes?”
“Boss? We gonna attack ‘fer real or we gonna just keep fuckin’ round?”
“I am going to eliminate a select few individuals. You will be the distraction.”
“This mean we can’t loot da place?”
Vega shook his head. He despised nothing more then having to deal with this... trash. “You can loot it, somewhat. Just leave the place intact.”
More hands went up, but Zolf quickly but it asking, “Sir, can we get to the plan?”
Vega smiled. He’d had spoken out of turn and really should be punished, but at the same time Zolf had given him a chance to skip the idiotic Q&A session from the minions. He’d let it slide.
“We will attack at midnight. Fifty men will go it with orders to draw out my targets. The other fifty will be outside the town and will serve as reinforcements in the unlikelihood the locals have help. A flair is the go signal.” Vega turned and looked at Zolf. “As for you, Zolf...”
“Yes sir?”
“The locals do not know your face.”
Vega stood up and handed a piece of paper to him.
“You will identify the people on that list and give me detailed descriptions of them.”
Zolf sharply saluted Vega. “Yes sir!”
Vega smiled. It was good to have one competent go-fer. “Leave.”
Zolf bowed his head and left. “As for the rest of you idiot… get ready for tonight.”
