The Materia was a very rare thing in this world, once it had been a more common, but since not everyone was able to bond witrh them, even less had the proper training to actually have the mindset to bont them, the use of it had become the stuff of legends, very few beings remembered the existence of the materia, much less the actual use of it.
Materia users where also called spirit users, wizards, witches, mages, Shamans and many other names depending on the particular kind of materia that they where capable of using, most of them where trained since birth, but some times a few of them could be created in the wild, they where very rare, but because of this they usually became the most powerful of all of them, that's one of the reasons why these wild users where often sought by proper teachers or magical beings to be taught, thye could become the greatest protectors or the worse demons, depending in their upbringing.
The changes that the materia made on Ranma didn't went unnoticed, at the same time several beings felt the recent bonding of a young child with the materia.
Sudeently Ranma feel the aproach of something it was...
