As soon as the bracelet was clasped on his hand there was a burning sensation and the bracelet vanished. Instead what Ranma found was on his arm.
Seven symbols - multicolored tattoos that seemed to change color slightly with the lighting.
Ranma didn't think anything of it until he was doing a chi exercise and the tattoos seemed to react. The five year old (anime continuity) was curious enough to focus his chi into one of the symbols and see what it did.
It burst into full color and an arrow of ice slammed into the practice dummy in front of him.
To a five year old boy, this was "seriously cool"
Genma saw this and figured that he must have drank more than he had thought. Then he decided he was such a great teacher that he had taught Ranma a martial arts manuever that he himself didn't know!

Armed with the ICE materia, Ranma considered the other six symbols. The next one turned out to be:
