Nodoka yawned as she got up just before sunrise. It was a habit of hers, always getting up early to watch the sunrise and then start her day. 'And today is the day that my son moves back into the house for a long while.' She went to the guest room to check on Britanny, it was interesting that the girl had no idea how to use chopsticks, fortunately Nodoka had some steel silverwear. When she got there she sighed as she saw that Britanny seemed to be sleeping peacefully, though Nodoka raised an eyebrow when she saw that Britanny was tucked in. 'Hmm, I wonder?' She then closed the door and went downstairs and looked outside and saw Ranma practicing his katas. She went out to the porch and called out, "Morning son."
This startled Ranma, he turned to look and see his mother, "Morning mom, what you doing up so early?"
Nodoka smiled, "I could ask you the same question." She then turned to look as the sun came up. Ranma blinked and turned to look as well.
"Beutiful."
"Isn't it? I usually get up this early so that I can watch the sun rise. But you act as if you've never seen a sunrise before."
Ranma blushed, though his mom couldn't see it, "Well usually I'm so tired that I can't see the sunrise. But since I got enough sleep last night, I thought I'd get up early, practice a bit and then wait for you to get dressed so that we can head over to the dojo and get my stuff."
Nodoka nodded, then turned and went into the house, "Just let me wash up a bit and we'll be off, make sure to leave Britanny a note."
Ranma sweatdropped, "Err, mom, my handwriting, kinda, you know, sucks."
Nodoka blinked, turned to her son and chuckled, "I guess it would if you haven't taken any writing courses before. Don't worry I'll write it then."
Ranma nodded, then blinked, "Um, mom, she's from America, I don't think she knows how to read Japanese."
"Can you write English?"
Ranma nodded, "Yeah, I'll write her a note. I just hope she can understand it though." Nodoka nodded and went upstairs. Ranma went to the kitchen, grabbed a piece of paper and a pencil. He sighed as he started to write.
Britanny, my mom and myself went to the Tendo Dojo
to get my stuff. If you're reading this, then
we're not back yet. ^_^ It shouldn't take us too long,
depends on how long the NWC will keep me busy.
Ranma
P.S. There's some tuna leftover from last night in the fridge.
Ranma blinked as he saw his mother come down the steps, "That didn't take long."
Nodoka sweatdropped, "Um, it's been thirty minutes."
Blink-blink, "Oh." Ranma shrugged his shoulders, "Well, just let me tape this to the inside of Britanny's door and we'll be on our way." He then passed the coffee table, grabbed the tape that was there, why it was there, Ranma had no clue, and headed up to Britanny's room. He eased the door open, and then taped the note onto the door handle so that Britanny couldn't miss it. He then closed the door and went back downstairs.
Nodoka was waiting by the door when Ranma came downstairs. "Finished?" Ranma nodded, "Then let's go, by the time we get there, everyone should be up and over there." Ranma groaned but nodded.
********
At Insanity Central the Tendo Dojo. . .
Genma, Soun, Nabiki, Akane and Kasumi were at the breakfast table, but so was Ryoga and Happosai. Akane looked at Nabiki, "Are you sure you don't know where Ranma is?"
Nabiki nodded, "Yes, I called Ukyo's and the Amazons and they said they hadn't seen him."
Akane looked at her sister if she was sick, "And you trusted them?"
Nabiki shook her head, "No I didn't, but what they said is what some of my people said as well."
Akane nodded thinking, 'At least he's not out with those hussies.'
Ryoga just growled, 'Why does Akane give a rat's @$$ about that two-timing pervert?'
Happosai didn't comment, he was too busy eating and asking Kasumi for more food. Kasumi was just smiling pleasantly and gave Happosai more food. "Thank you dear, you're so considerate, unlike some people."
"Your welcome grandfather Happosai." Happosai's smile just got bigger.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Soun blinked, "I wonder who's visiting so early in the moring?" He got up and went to answer the door.
"Oh my, father let me do it."
Soun looked at Kasumi, "I can't let you do everything around here Kasumi." With that he went to the door. When he opened it, he was surprised that a red and black blur flashed right by him and up the stairs. "Uh, what?"
Nodoka sighed, "Ranma thought it'd be best if I talked to everyone without him around. There is something I need to tell everyone, so if you please?"
Soun nodded, at least that explained what the blur was. He led Nodoka into the house where everyone was sitting, looking a little dazed. Nabiki noticed Nodoka first, "Auntie, do you know where that strong gust came from?"
Nodoka giggled, "That strong gust was actually Ranma." She frowned as she saw some people getting ready to go after him. "Please stay here, there is an annoucement that I have to make." Seeing everyone calmed down, she continued, or rather tried to as a certain elder and a chef came into view. Nodoka blinked as she recongnized these two, "Ukyo-chan, Elder Colonge, what are you two doing here?"
Ukyo frowned, "I came over to see if Ranma-honey was alright."
Colonge smirked, "I was mearly wondering where son-in-law was."
Nodoka frowned, but decided to let them hear this as well. "Fine, I have an annoucement that concerns all the engagements anyways." That wasn't technically true, but it would get people to listen. Genma and Soun were about to say something, when Nodoka stopped them with a glare, "Sit down, shut up and listen!" They eeped and she nodded, "It has come to my attention that Ranma needs time away from the fiancees and rivals. So Ranma is coming over to my house for a training trip so to speak."
Genma got up, "But dear, what can you teach the boy that I can't?"
"How about dealing with life in general?" Seeing everyone blink, she elaborated, "I asked Ranma a question yesterday about his life. He couldn't answer it because he didn't know how to, I am giving him a chance to learn about life and then he can answer my question."
Soun spoke up, "Then Akane should go with him."
Akane looked at her father, "Dad! I do not want to go with that. ."
Nodoka interupted, "Enough! Ranma will have NO fiancees over at my house at any time. Nor any rivals. Or anyone from Nerima. If any fiancees stop over to bother my son, then their engagement will be off, regardless of who's it is. If a rival shows up fighting for the hand of one of the girls, that girl's engagement will be off as well." She then looked at Nabiki, "And I don't want 'certain' people bothering me, got it?" Nabiki nodded and Nodoka smiled, "Good." She turned to Colonge, "I do hope that you relay that message to the others."
Colonge nodded, "I would not go against the wishes of a mother as that would be sacraligous to an Amazon."
Nodoka nodded and turned to Ukyo and raised an eyebrow. Ukyo flushed, "Sure, I can stay away."
Nodoka smiled, "Good, well I'll be on my way. Oh and Master Happosai?"
Happi blinked, "Yes Nodoka?"
"I would appreciate it if you stayed away from my house for the next two to three months."
Happosai thought about it and asked, "What's in it for me?"
Nodoka turned and raised an eyebrow, "I think that keeping 'Little-Happi' on you would be a good incentive?"
Happosai nodded and shuddered, 'Damn that woman is scary at times.'
Kasumi spoke up, "Um, Auntie, what about Ranma?"
Nodoka smiled, "He's already outside." Seeing everyone blink, she elaborated, "He jumped out the window." With that she turned and left.
