Broken Hearted Cheetah: Cheetah Waking [Episode 51156]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

Sleep was not an escape from reality for Britanny. Ever since holding Stripe in her arms as he expired, dreams had been harsh torture for the werecheetah. Memories would refuse to remain buried in her subconscious.

The brief and fleeting moment of happiness when Britanny had once more held and kissed her love, and then him literally disappearing from her. The fear in her beating heart as she ran, pushing herself to the limit as she felt pain from sore muscles and seering lungs... And it still wasn't enough. She had managed to defeat Rio herself, but Stripe was already too far gone. Britanny, her sisters, and friends had saved Aebra... But not Stripe.

Again, and again, these events played in Britanny's mind, torturing the werecheetah, making her feel totally worthless. No matter what she did or tried to accomplish that day, she still did not accomplish the one and only goal she had in mind. Bringing her fiance back home safely.

Yet, the oddest thing happened. For the first time in the greatest while, such nightmares, rememberances of failure, did not haunt the werecheetah's night. No. Instead, it was a dream. A scared little girl, lost and alone in a dark forest. And a pig-tailed, armored knight come in from the darkest depths, his armor reflecting light, as if to guide the little girl home.

And that is when Britanny had awakened. Her eyes opening slowly, but closing again as Britanny let out the cutest-sounding yawn as she tried to stretch out, finding herself being restricted, as she seemed to have been tucked securely into the bed. "I wonder..."

Yawning once more, Britanny sat up and pushed aside the blanket a bit, showing that she was just wearing a bra and a pair of navy panties. She stretched lightly and blinked her eyes a few times, trying to clear her vision. And almost automatically took note of her dream. She let out a sigh of relief. She was very grateful for a change of pace.

Standing, Britanny decided to get dressed. Grabbing the backpack from the foot of the bed, Britanny lifted it onto the bed. Looking through it, Britanny took out a new black bra and panties set, a pair of jeans, and a simple white t-shirt. It didn't take the werecheetah long to get dressed.

Turning to the door, Britanny stopped as she caught sight of a paper taped to the door. Taking it down, she looked it over and read it... As best she could. "Oh man, Ranma's writing is almost as bad as chicken scratches."

Still, Britanny was able to read the note all right. "Tendo Dojo, huh?" Britanny thought. Britanny blinked her eyes and asked out loud, "What does NWC stand for?"

Shrugging her shoulders, Britanny did understand the last part of the note, and it gave her reason to smile. "Mmm... Tuna..."

And so, Britanny made her way downstairs, taking time to admire the architecture around her. It was quite simple, but otherwise, was very nice, almost had an air of elegance or prestiege. "I wonder how old this place is..." Britanny thought, noticing some of the decorations.

And so, Britanny had made it to the kitchen, which, besides the bathroom, seemed to be the most modern area in the house. Britanny walked over to the refridgerator and opened it up. The small smile on her face grew as she saw the bowl of tunafish salad at the bottom. She reached for it and carried it over to the table. Walking over to a counter-top, Britanny began opening drawers, looking for some more of that steel silverware that Nodoka had let her use last night. She found it on the third drawer she opened.

So, with fork in hand, Britanny pulled out a chair and sat down at the table. Peeling back the alumminum foil over the top of the bowl, Britanny began to dig in with gusto. "Not sure what that nice Nodoka woman uses, but it's scrumptious!"

Under three minutes, Britanny finished off the tuna salad, (as she was savoring the flavor). As she did, the werecheetah sat back and noticed something. Besides what she's done, it seemed that no one had used the kitchen. "Odd... Did they eat breakfast?" Britanny thought in curiosity.

Britanny thought about it for a minute. She didn't know if Ranma and his mother were going out for breakfast, the note only said that they were going to get Ranma's things, and would be back as soon as possible.

"Hopefully they had not eaten yet." Britanny said as she stood up. She walked over to the sink and put the now empty bowl, and the fork in it. "Because I plan to make them breakfast!"

Britanny cracked her knuckles, prepping herself for 'battle'. She was not the best cook, but she wasn't bad. And she did want to pay Ranma and his mother back for all their help. "And a good meal for them might also show I'm not toally useless."

Britanny moved about the kitchen, searching for any good breakfast items. As she did, she was surprised by how well-stocked the kitchen was. There weren't many boxed or canned foods, in fact, the majority of the food was fresh and in the huge refridgerator. "The woman must go to market quite often."

Britanny nodded her head. There were eggs and sausage, but Britanny wanted to make more. Then it hit her. She looked around a bit. There was a carton of milk, in the fridge, bags of flour, grain, and sugar in a pantry.

The smile on Britanny's face showed how pleased she was. "I'm not used to cooking from scratch, but I'm gonna make Ranma the BEST pancakes, EVER!"

Britanny was excited, and was beginning to feel like her old self again. There was something about Ranma. It made her want to do stuff for him, and it brought back new energy to her. The reason Ranma was able to do this with her, she didn't care, she was just glad that she stopped acting like a bump on a log. "And now, to cook!"
