Shinji Ikari, average boy, he got good grades, tended to not like large groups, and was one of the most depressed people ever in history (besides Ryouga, but that's a give in.) If you were to ask his friends (which could be counted on one hand with fingers left over.) they'd say that Shinji was an alright guy, helped people when he could, accepted help from others, had lied so few times in life it was hard to find a boy more honest. But Then again Shinji wasn't your average guy, he piloted giant robots, he fought heavens messengers (which had earned him the nickname 'Angel Slayer Ikari', there is a bounty on his head so huge in heaven its scary.), he could roughly under stand penguin talk due to living with a warm water one. He also did most of the chores at his house, if not then the harder ones. Shinji lived with two very beautiful women, but as the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Take for instance the younger of his room mates, Asuka Langley Sohryu, nice body, a pert rump, semi large breasts for her age, baby blue eyes, long shiny red hair, what more could a man ask for? Asuka how ever was also obnoxious, she complained a lot, insulted the young man for his habit of saying sorry when he did something wrong and never standing up for himself. To put it quite simply, in the minds of many, Asuka was a bonified bitch.
However Asuka was not the only woman in this boys life, take his other roomate and guardian Misato Katsuragi, she too had a nice body like Asuka, she didn't complain nearly as much, but was a total slob, drank alcohol like it was water, couldn't cook for the life of her, and basicly depended on Shinji to take care of her.
Once again, not the only girl in this young mans life, there was another, a girl whos skin was so pale it bordered albino, she had red eyes, blue hair, and was as most people called her, the Ice Queen, for she Rei Ayanami seemed to have no emotions at all. There was only one person, besides Shinji's father who she ever showed any emotion for, and that was Shinji himself.
Now I know what you're thinking, why is he depressed, he's surrounded by women? Well here was the problem, due to some very traumatomic moments in his life, Shinji had a tendency to ward away other humans, fearing the pain of loss or rejection, he'd rather never feel loved than feel that pain agian.
But if there was one thing every one knew Shinji for besides his cronic depression then it was this, Shinji was the most reclusive person you could ever meet. Just the thought of sex or any thing like that, made the boy get a bloody nose, or faint. Most people just get a slight blush when they think about stuff like that, it puzzled many people as to the young mans problem but not many dwelled on it. So when Shinji woke up this morning on Monday, he never expected it to be any different from any other day, but what Shinji didn't know, was that something interesting was going to happen today.
