Gina sat in a chair at her desk. She was typing away at her computer quite quickly, the only sound in the room was that of the keyboard keys clacking as she typed.
Dao walked over to Gina. He had noticed that since she had gotten back from her trip to Japan. He was done cataloging the items she had brought back, and he was starting to get curious as to why Gina was rather... 'Quiet'.
Coughing slightly to clear hs throat, Dao walked up to Gina and placed and tapped her lightly on the shoulder. "Gina... Are you okay? You've been rather silent since you came back from Japan. Did anything happen while you were there?"
Turning around, Gina sighed. She wondered how to tell Dao for a moment, then a thought occured to her. "Dao... Before I tell you what happened, I want to make one thing clear... Do you still love me?"
Dao was surprised. Gina had known about how he's been attracted to her for quite some time. He found it surprising that she brought it up again. "Why do you ask that Gina?"
Sighing, Gina looked at Dao. "I'm pregnant."
Staring, Dao sputtered a few moments, until he finally got out, "Do you know who the father is?"
Shrugging her shoulders, Gina answered, "Either Ryan or Thropan. I'm not sure. We were all in a Aphrodisiac Artifact-inuced haze of lust, and I ended up having sex with them both."
Dao was surprised, but he nodded his head. After all, he himself was a father from a failed marriage. His 'daughter' Genn was currently residing in the Diggers household. "And how does that make you feel Gina?"
Sighing, Gina said, "Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel. I mean, I'm excited, yet at the same time, very, very afraid. I've never thought I'd settle down soon, but with a child I might very well have to. I mean, there's no way I'll be able to move around, charting unknown places when I have a child I need to take care of."
Then slightly smiling, Gina said, "Though I must admit. The idea of being called 'mom', and having someone I can pass all my knowledge onto does make me feel excited."
Dao nodded his head. "Well, what are you going to do about finding out who the father is?"
Gina thought about that for a moment, then answered. "I can do this one of two ways. First, as the fetus gets older, I might find a way to get a small blood sample, or a tissure sample from the placenta. Then I try to determine the child through blood-matching."
"And what is the other way?" Dao asked.
Gina smirkd. "Wait for the child to be born. Either the child will be human or a werepanther."
