Master's Way: The Real Kasumi? [Episode 52194]

by Valor Phoenix

Hearing what his mother said to Kasumi and then Kasumi's mumbled responses, Ranma was way beyond worried.

Unfortunately, the book didn't really have a chapter on undoing hypnosis, or at least not one Ranma had found.

Waiting for an opportunity, he was relieved that his mother wandered off, happy with her little talk with Kasumi.

Kasumi was on the move as well, heading up to her room and still mumbling to herself. Glad that it was still relatively clear in the house, Ranma quietly slipped in behind her.

As soon as Kasumi noticed his presence, Ranma had both his hopes and fears confirmed. While she was luckily still drowsy and under the effects of the tea, she was also just as obviously under the sway of her new commands. Upon seeing Ranma the older girl lit up with a smile and a blush. "Why Ranma, how naughty of you, sneaking into a girl's room."

Not having a plan but knowing he needed to try and fix Kasumi before anyone noticed her turning fiancée on him, Ranma spoke up as authoritatively as he could, hoping the tea still had the proper effect. "Kasumi, sit down and listen to me."

Seeing the girl take a seat at her desk and look expectantly to him, Ranma tried something off the hip. "I want to speak to the real Kasumi, the Kasumi that isn't effected by the hypnotic commands my mother accidentally gave her."

Blinking, the girl seemed to become aware there was something going on other than the urge to make babies with a certain martial artist. "Ranma?"

Knowing his time was likely short, Ranma pushed on boldly. "I want you to remember the commands my mother accidentally gave you and write them down."

Looking surprised, Kasumi nonetheless picked up pen and paper and began writing down what Nodoka had told her. That she could remember them clearly after having Ranma order her to was amazing. Once she was done however, the amazement wore off to be replaced by worry. "Ranma-kun, what's happening?"

Willing to take the blame and face the music if it meant helping Kasumi, Ranma held nothing back. "I found this book that has techniques for understanding girls better. I wanted to try the hypnotic tea on you to see if it worked, but mom came in and started accidentally telling you stuff that you believed. I didn't mean for anything to happen to you, I was just testing it. Anyways, I wasn't sure how to counter what she did so I wanted you to write it down and help me figure out how to fix it."

Staring at Ranma for a moment, Kasumi looked over at the paper full of off-hand commands to make her an eager and loving wife. Other than a comment about taking after Nodoka and feeling she might not be ready for kids, it wasn't that bad. Curiously, the lonely girl spoke up. "Ah, Ranma-kun, do you not want me as a wife? Would you really rather have Akane?"

Unfortunately not realizing that Kasumi still believed his comment about Akane being a violent maniac, Ranma tried to get back onto the topic of fixing her. "That's not it."

Seeing the look on Kasumi's face however, Ranma could tell she was taking it the wrong way, as if he found her too repulsive to keep. "Look, I do like you, and I'd love to have you as a fiancée. If I had actually had a choice I would have picked you. I just want to get this fixed before something happens to you, okay?"

Staring at Ranma in a new light for the second time in less than ten minutes, Kasumi reluctantly turned back to the page full of commands. Obviously, he was only concerned about doing the right thing and freeing her from the compulsions. That he was 'freeing' her from being his eager love-slave of a fiancée when he admittedly wanted her as a fiancée was duly noted.

Feeling that time was drawing short, Ranma decided to spur things along with one last command. "Please Kasumi, hurry up and help me find a solution that will make you happy."

Feeling her decision in what to do set firmly in her mind, Kasumi set about helping Ranma fix Nodoka's bumbling mistakes. First, she crossed out the commands on the first piece of paper, holding it up for Ranma to see. Holding the paper up to him, she answered his unasked question. "Tell me, 'Kasumi Tendou will ignore the commands she crossed out on this piece of paper'."

Nodding at the simple brilliance at it, as it avoided the obvious problems of just telling Kasumi to start forgetting stuff, Ranma repeated her suggested command. "Kasumi Tendou will ignore the commands she crossed out on this piece of paper."

Looking back from the paper to Kasumi after marveling at how much those crossed-out words might have screwed up Kasumi, he was surprised to find her writing on a new piece of paper. Wondering what he had missed while looking the crossed-out commands over, he had only looked up in time to see Kasumi sign her letter and then stamp her personal seal to it. Cluelessly he watched in silence as Kasumi folded the parchment, then sealed it again using ink as wax was too inconvenient.

Presenting the folded letter to Ranma, Kasumi bowed her head once, formally. "Kasumi Tendou believes what she wrote on this letter, which she signed, with all of her heart."

Still surprised, Ranma stared blankly at Kasumi, unsure about this new development. "Uhm, are you sure about this?"

Smiling at seeing him worry needlessly again, Kasumi gently eased his fears. "Don't worry, it's just your reward. Please do this for me."

Frowning in consternation, Ranma unfortunately felt her was out of time. Not wanting to argue with Kasumi about something she thought for the best, he set about finishing up with her. "Alright, Kasumi Tendou believes what she wrote on this letter, which she signed, with all of her heart."

Seeing that Kasumi was still smiling, which hopefully meant there was nothing bad in the letter, Ranma gave her one last command. "I want you to count to ten. When you reach ten, you will awaken and feel refreshed and the effects of the tea will have worn off."

Seeing Kasumi start to count while staring off into space, Ranma went to her window and made good on his escape. While the house was technically safe, the close call with his mother had set his nerves on edge.

Fortunately, no one spied him leaving. Making good on his escape, he left the compound entirely to find a nice quiet secluded spot and do some serious reading of his new book.

Ending her count and feeling refreshed and alert, Kasumi was surprised to find herself with memories of everything that had happened.

With a giggle she wondered what Ranma's reaction would be when he finally read the letter he had taken with him.
