To be honest, Queen Shiva was in a semi-state of shock. One moment she was lounging about in the floor that held the palace garden, thinking about her daughter, and all of a sudden, armed guards of the Salusian Security came up to her. The Palace Guards were placing her under house-arrest, under orders of Captain Sardonis.
"I can't believe Sardonis would betray the family like this..." Queen Shiva thought. The family always trusted Captain Sardonis with unwavering faith. They were so sure the military offiver would help keep things in order while Asrial went off to get her husband and ascend to the throne.
"And instead, he's just plans to seize power in total..." Shiva sighed. She knew that there was a forty-eight hour limit before the cut-off time for Asrial to become Queen. And it seems that Sardonis had every intention of making sure Asrial would not make it back to Salusia in time.
"And that is when it will be over for me..." Shiva sighed. Once he had the Salusian Empire under his total command, she knew that she would be expendable, and of no use to the corrupted Captain. She knew he might offer her to marry him, in a farcical marrriage so that he might gain the trust of the Salusian people... "But I would rather die first, than let him have his way with me."
Sitting up from her bed, Queen Shiva stood up and walked over to her now barred window. Looking through the metal bars, she looked outside into the city around. There were no patrols of Salusian soldiers patrolling the street. Captain Sardonis wanted to prevent any resistance. And all those who would be needed for the ceremony, like herself, the Archbishop, and witnesses that were members of the ruling family, were all being held against their will inside the palace.
Queen Shiva wasn't going to fool herself. Their only hope now was that Asrial and Ranma somehow made it into the Palace safely. As soon as Asrial literally set foot on the Planet Salusia's soil, she would have political immunity, and the soldiers would not legally have a right to do anything to her.
After all, the very reason they have been able to 'arrest' Queen Shiva was because they had legal right. And the laws stated that Asrial be treated fairly while on Salusia soil, as to get her n the throne with as little problem as possible. Not even Sardonis would have the power to hurt her without facing the wrath of the Salusian Courts.
But that's the problem. Asrial was NOT on Salusia. She was on Earth, and while out there, Sardonis could pretty much do ANYTHING to her.
And so, Queen Shiva silently prayed. Prayed for teh safety of her daughter and Ranma.
