Kachoo: Grounding a troublesome child [Episode 52891]

by Kestral

Kachoo didn't want to do this, but apparently it was necessary.

Human brain patterns worked on this frequency, and had these patterns, and used biochemicals in such and so manner.

The longer he spent here, the more amazing the human species became.

It was odd that the race had such self-destructive impulses. One would wonder how the species had ever survived to this point.

Oh bother. Now one of the other countries was trying to attack him. It always happens when you're on the phone, in the shower, or about to utilize... oh there's a thought. Test subjects! How delightful.

Kachoo's race could easily be confused with the "Markovians" mentioned in the Well World series of novels by Jack Chalker or the "Krell" mentioned in an old movie known as Forbidden Planet. They didn't look the same, but they were similar in some manners. Any sufficiently advanced technology is hard for those of a less advanced society to understand the workings of.

So what he did was test out his newly completed array to do matter-energy-matter conversions. It was a fairly complicated network required to do this properly, so there were a number of adjustments and things that had to be just right to pull off precision results. Something like a bulk transporter from "Star Trek" combined with a replicator from the same series. High tech alchemy where you turned substance A to substance B and the only limitations were the amount of power you had available and your computer capacities.

With a slight mental nudge, Kachoo turned the incoming missiles to flower petals, wood shavings, and chicken feathers. He then turned his attention to the battle fleet which had launched them.

What to do. Something that would test the capabilities of his satellite network. Ah. Just the thing. Simply convert their vehicles to ice. Perfect. Now they'd not immediately drown but would also be unable to launch attacks.

Kachoo paused for a moment. Intercontinental missile fire with a primitive fission based warhead? Oh bother. Turn them into seeds. Yes. Those lovely sea flowers from Asabi Pri. He'd have to check and see if the pollen had any biological effect on humans. Oh well. Track the missile paths backwards. Hmmm. North Korea? Well, just tweak it a little bit. That should be a nice test of the system. Had to make sure everything worked after all.

There was a brief flash and a curtain of blue light began moving across the land. It started in the DMZ and began moving northward at the speed of a fast car.

Where it passed, things were restored to a condition they'd not seen in five hundred years. Guns and tanks became swords and wagons. Clothing and equipment all devolved to a more primitive time and materials technology took a giant leap backwards.

Satisfied that everything was working well, Kachoo turned his attention to the next contest. Racing. Of course, there was a good chance that the Senshi would defeat him and his plans for this intriguing race of sentients would come to naught. This particular race was utilizing primitive internal combustion engines that required petrochemical products as fuel. How very wasteful. He could hardly wait to get them up to fusion engines at least. Ah well.

The race was for the continent of Antarctica. Politely, he'd sent out invitations for various world leaders. The details he'd hammered out indicated that it would be one of his team, one of their team, and the type of race was:
