Genma's Wish: There goes the old bloodline [Episode 5321]

"What kind of horror, Father?" Kasumi paused in her delivery of breakfast to wonder what had set her father off this time.

"One of your stocks tank again?" Nabiki munched on a slice of toast and other than the question chose to ignore her father's usual crying jag. He must have adopted her.

"Many years ago, before even Kasumi was born, I and a man named Genma Saotome (sob) arranged to (boo hoo) unite the families by marrying off one of you to his son," blubbered Soun.

"Now it can't happen, oh the horrors!" Soun looked properly mortified. "It turns out that the pure and noble Saotome blood contains an American ancestor. Oh, this is truly horrible."

Nabiki shrugged. Big deal. Stuff like that happened.

"So we actually don't have an arranged marriage you're going to force on us, right?" Akane wanted clarification of this point.

"Yes. Oh, I know how disappointed you must be." Soun began crying more silently.

The other Tendos just shrugged and went about their business.

Japanese Heir Named
SAN DIEGO, CA, USA: In a surprise announcement today, Thomas J. Warbucks, the son of Annie Warbucks, the adopted daughter of "Daddy" Warbucks, made mention of a fund developed for his illegitimate son Genma Saotome. Though Genma can only draw $2200 USD per month from this fund, stock prices took a tumble on the Nikkei and Dow Jones as investors tried to figure out the repercussions of this new heir to the vast fortune of the Warbucks.

Though the records show Genma Saotome as a poor bargainer, a thief, and a glutton, Thomas J Warbucks has stated that any son of his should be taken care of and given a fair chance.

Genma swallowed. This was bad. If everyone knew he was rich, relatively, then they'd be out to make his IOUs good and he still wouldn't have any money.

Still there was a chance, if he:

• went to America and presented himself, he could live in the lap of luxury at the Warbucks mansion!
• changed his name and appearance, he could hide. Yes, nobody would realize that Gendo Ikari was actually Genma Saotome!
• begged really nicely, Nodoka wouldn't kill him for introducing impurities to her family bloodline.
• could just find Ranma?! Where did he go?! He was just here a minute ago!
• something else
