Kitty Senshi: Promises Long Forgotten [Episode 53705]

by Kender

As she finished putting away her groceries, Nodoka sighed. Her shelves were stocked, her home was clean, and her appearance wasperfect. But she was alone in her house, and at times like these she could really feel it. She could remember the patter of small feet and the sound of childish laughter mixing with the boom of her husband's voice in a sound that warmed her heart.

But honor had dictated that her son go and learn to be a man, and if she was nothing else, she was honorable. It had pained her to do it, but she had allowed her child to go out to become the best man he could become. However, he was now staying at the Tendo Dojo, and that meant that her house would stay empty, as it had been since she'd had to renounce her opportunity to raise her child.

Reaching over to shuffle some papers, one caught her eye. On it was a name that she remembered from long ago. Naoko and she had been the best of friends, almost sisters. They'd lost contact almost twenty years earlier, and she'd forgotten that they had done this.

Closing her eyes, she regretted having lost the opportunity to talk to the girl she had been close to so long ago. She was certain that Naoko had grown into a fine woman, and if they hadn't lost touch, that they would have been friends to this day. It was really awful for the loss of her friend and the opportunity to meet the man she had taken as her husband.

However, as she read it, she realised that they hadn't been the only ones in the family. Her dear old friend had apparently had a daughter who had survived them, and was trying to make her way in the world. The poor dear obviously had the heart of a samurai, but was all alone.

That meant that if she engaged her son to Naoko's daughter Makoto, then the child would have a family again, and she'd manage to have completed the one promise that she could for her old friend. And if the daughter was anything like her mother, then she would have become a true beauty.

Smiling now, she set out to see if she could track down Makoto. If she was successful, then perhaps she could hear the patter of small feet again, this time belonging to her grandchildren. She giggled like she had with Naoko and set out to see about the contract while:
