"Ucchan? When did you turn into a girl?" Ranma asked. Little Ukyo blinked at that question, then bopped Ranma over the head with her spatula.
"I've always been a girl!!" she yelled, trying to whap Ranma again. Ranma dodged, and soon the two where playing an impromptu game of tag across the lot. The various servants looked on with amusement.
Nodoka was less pleased... at least, with Genma. "That reminds me, Genma. You did it again. I think I have been, considerate up to now of some of your methods, husband. But this is going too far."
Genma, too confused and frightened to speak, just nodded.
"Now, I've accepted your arrangement with the Tendos with good faith. They are a good family, of strong stock. And the girls are just delightful, Ranma is sure to like one of them. But this is the second time I've come across you making yet another arranged marriage for Ranma! You don't even have the right to do that anymore!"
The look Nodoka leveled at Genma in that instant could have set paper on fire from a mile away. He was sweating gallons at this.
Nodoka sighed. "Well, it took a good deal of money, and accepting the Kuonji family into our service as well, but I managed to smooth over that little... problem. That said, it id rather obvious that I can't trust Ranma's future to you. So I am putting a stop to this 'training trip' of you and Ranma alone."
Now Genma found his voice. "But I can't have him going soft! A woman's influence would only weaken him! He must put his all in the art."
"Put his all in the art?!" Nodoka would have yelled if she weren't a lady. "Ranma is the heir to the Saotome family! He must eventually command and control our companies and ventures over the entire world!! He must be more than just a superb warrior! And yet, from what I can tell, you have been keeping Ranma out of school. This is unacceptable." She said that with a finality that allowed no argument.
Genma tried anyway. "Bah! The Art is all the boy will ever need! How will he ever be even one tenth the martial artist I am if he spends his time on useless things like school..."
"Like you are, husband?" Nodoka replied, sarcastically. "I assure you, Genma, there is more to life than your art. I mean, look at what it nearly cost your friend! Did you know his wife nearly died!! Soun couldn't raise enough money to treat her cancer in his dojo. If he hadn't called me when he did, Kimiko would have died. That is all the great martial artist could do in the end." Nodoka shook her head. "Oh, no, husband, I refuse to let you bring up Ranma to be that... ineffectual. There will be changes made..."
