"Hey, Natsuki, what's on your mind?" Kondo asked, taking a seat beside Natsuki.
"I'm trying to decide what to do about this sword..."
"Oh.. Ranma mentioned that a while ago. Said you wanted to get it ground into a knife?"
"Yeah... But Idon't have enoguh money..."
"Well, keep trying and you'll make enough."
"I guess that's all I can do... I think I'll go on patrol, now..." At that Natsuki got up just outside the room she ran into Ranma.
"Why don't you go after some high-priced bounty?" Ranma asked. "If what I've seen you hit Batanen with is any indication, you shouldn't have much trouble."
"You really think so?" Natsuki walked over to the bulletin board where the wanted flyers were posted. "Hmmm..." Selecting one, she removed it, "I'll go after this one."
Ranma took one look at the bounty and nearly freaked out, {This guy must be pretty nasty...} "I'll go with you to help. Even splitting the bounty you'll still have enough for the sword."
"Really?! Thanks, Ranma!"
About three hours later...
"Natsuki, you sure this guy hasn't skipped town?"
Natsuki didn't reply. She was too busy getting information from another citizen.
{I get the feeling we won't be finding this thing anytime soon.} Ranma again glanced at the poster of the giant tick wanted for violating the Endangered Species laws(namely, he murdered a bunch of humans).
"Ranma! I got it! I know where he's hiding!"
It took only 10 minutes to get to the location. A run-down section of town with empty buildings. A perfect place for a giant criminal insect to hide.
"Creepy place." Natsuki commented.
"I've seen worse."
On tha note, the bug, alerted to the presence of intruders, dropped down.
{That's... a lot bigger than he thoguht in the flyer.} Shoving her nervousness aside, Natsuki began to read the bug its rights. But as usual, forgot part of it.
And it was right when she paused that Ranma got the feeling of being watched again...
...Which was when Sakura struck. Using a parasite she unleashed a bolt of force that knocked out Natsuki, and sent Ranma flying into a nearby wall. Not nearly enough to knock him out, though... It was nothing like what Natsuki had once hit him with. Getting up, Ranma immediately recognized Sakura as the lady he had sat next to at the noodle cart earlier in the day.
"So, you ARE the one who's been following us!"
"Come closer and I'll kill you, too!" Sakura threatened, her parasite ready to blast again.
Ranma held back, he knew he wasn't fast enough to get a shot at Sakura before she could hit him again. Because of this he was forced to watch as Sakura... Jumped down and bit Natsuki on the ass.
"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHH!!!!! OWIEOWIEOWIEOWIEOWIE!"
"Damn! She's still alive!" Sakura prepared to strike again, which was when Natsuki's parasites popped out.
Ranma knew the best course of action about now was to get the hell out of the way. Therefore, he hid behind a nearby slab of concrete as the voltage did its job. He stayed hidden after it had died out. He heard Sakura yell soemthing as she left the area, but couldn't tell what, exactly, had been said...
Natsuki, meanwhile, had woken up. And with the kitsune gone, she re-focused on the bounty she was there to capture.
She turned to find the tick dead. "Wow! I did it! RANMA!! I GOT HIM!! ....Ranma?"
Still behind the slab of concrete, Ranma responded simply by saying, "That's great..."
The very next day Natsuki stopped back at the swordsmith and had the orihalcon blade turned into her new knife. A short time later at the Lamp Cafe, she was showing it off to the Tachibanas while Ranma sat to the side sipping some tea.
Makoto whistled as he examined the knife. "So this is that blade were you going on and on about yesterday."
"Yep!"
Ayami leaned in to examine it herself. "It looks real sharp."
"It is." Natsuki looked up and spotted Ayami cutting up some food with it. "HEY!! YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO USE IT LIKE THAT!!!"
It was then that Batanen came in. "Oh, here you are, Natsuki. Skipping work?"
"No way! I'm on my break."
"Yeah, well, Mudagami wants to see you."
"Really? What for?"
"Probably to file a report, like always."
"I thought I already did that. Oh, well, I'll just go see what he wants." Natsuki said as she got to leave.
"You go do that." It was then that Batanen noticed Ranma, "Oh, by the way, kid, I'm gonna be teaching you how to use a gun today."
"Really? What for?" Ranma asked. "I really don't think I need it."
"You never know when you'll find yourself in a situation where you need one."
Meanwhile, in the Police Company building, Natsuki knocked as she entered Mudagami's office. "You wanted to see- AAAAAAAAAHHH!!!"
"Glad you could come Natsuki. This is Sakura, our newest employee. You two will be partners."
Natsuki looked over the woman in the room. It was indeed the same person that had tried to take a bite out of her bottom just last night, dressed in a Police Company uniform. {Oh, no...}
"I trust you will do a good job teaching her."
Sakura walked over to her new partner. "Nice to meet you, Natsuki dear..." And finished her statement with a lick on Natsuki's cheek.
Natsuki ran out of the room, screaming all the way.
