Stopping a moment in his work of putting the Bullseye in place, Batanen looked over his shoulders at his new partner. "What is it, Ranma?"
"Do I really have to use one of these?" Ranma asked. "I mean, I can punch and kick an opponent no problem! And I can use my chi and the ki around me to make projectile attacks. I don't need a gun!"
Batanen sighed and shook his head. Having the target in place he called out, "Yes, you do, Ranma! Sometimes you'll come across an enemy you cannot touch bare-handed. And what if you're out of energy? What will you do then?"
Ranma blinked his eyes once, than twice. That Batanen sure had a point. "Damn... So I have to learn to use a gun then?"
"OF COURSE!" Batanen called out. "Now, load the practice steel-tip bullets into the gun!"
Ranma frowned as he began loading the gun. Steel-tip bullets. In his time, these things were considered, and WERE lethal to him. Now, in this world of monsters, they were next-to-useless, as a person needed at LEAST silver-tipped bullets to do any damage. "IT'S LOADED, BATANEN!" Ranma called out.
"GOOD!" Batanen said. "Now, keep both eyes open, and taker careful aim. Use the small guide at the tip of the gun to help you, and SHOOT!"
Ranma nodded his head, considering Batanen's words. There was an raised indentation at the end of the guns barrels, to help Ranma aim better. He had it aimed almost perfectly, holding a steady grip. He then pulled the trigger...
*BLAM*!
"OW!!!" Batanen screamed as he stumbled back a bit as a small spray of blood literally shot from his shoulder.
"BATANEN!" Ranma called out.
Batanen grimaced but waved his hand. "I'll be fine. It's only steel. Besides, my own fault for standing too close to the target!"
Batanen then stapped back a good distance so he was a good fifteen feet AWAY from the target. "RANMA! SHOOT!"
*BLAM*!
"OW!!!" Batanen screamed, stumbling a bit as he got shot in his OTHER shoulder! "DAMN IT, RANMA! ARE YOU REALLY THAT POOR A SHOT!?"
Ranma blushed. "Sorry..."
(------)
A little later, we see Batanen has replaced the target with a LARGER one. And he is standing right next to Ranma this time.
"Okay, Ranma..." Batanen spoke. "Take aim and fire!"
"Yes sir!" Ranma said, and pulled tr trigger. *BLAM*!
"ARGH!!!" Batanen screamed as he fell, a nice wound in his right thigh.
"BATANEN!" Ranma cried out. "What happened!?
"YOU SHOT ME IN THE LEG, THAT"S WHAT HAPPENED!" Batanen growled as he tried to stand up. He stood directly behind Ranma by a few feet. "All right, we're going to try this again! Ranma take aim and fire!"
Batanen smiled. There was NO way Ranma would be able to hit someone behind him when aiming forward.
*BLAM*!
"OW! WHAT THE HELL!?" Batanen swore as he fell to the ground again, having been shot in the other thigh! "HOW THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT!?"
"I, I don't know, Batanen!"
"Christ! And I thought Natsuki was a horrible shot!" Batanen growled as he stood on two wounded legs. They would heal quite easilly in time, but right now, they hurt like hell.
Ranma watched Batanen limped away and hid behind a nother pillar of concrete. "OKAY, RANMA! TAKE THE SHOT!"
"RIGHT!" Ranma called out. He made sure to aim at the target like before, and fired!
*BLAM*!
"OWWWW!!! MY ASS! YOU SHOT ME IN THE ASS!!!" Batanen was screaming bloody murder.
Ranma blinked. This was all too incredible. "Batanen, sir!" Ranma called out. "Do you want me to try again?"
"NO!!!" Batanen screamed at the top of his lungs. "Oh God, damn... Ranma here makes Natsuki look like William Tell!" Batanen tthought grimly.
"Let's just say, there's no way in hell I'm letting Ranma hold another gun..."
