Ranma didn’t know what the big deal with his father was. There were so many video games and mangas explaining how to use ki that someone had to pick something up. That wasn’t even his strongest attack.
Ranma went to his room and started watching some anime. Today he chose Samurai Deeper Kyo. As the movie started, Ranma went into full study mode watching techniques, mannerisms, and anything useful.
Ranma’s interest in anime, manga and video games started when he was eleven years old and won a contest to do voice acting in a children’s anime. Since then, he had been voice acting in different anime series and video games. He had been to many special events and appeared in many of the conventions. He slowly got very popular to the point where he is an idol. Thus with all the influences, he became somewhat of an otaku himself.
His mother thought that it was manly that he was doing this. Although it probably had to do with the amount of fan girls he had. His father of course said it was foolish and that he should focus on the art. Of course, he didn’t complain too often, about the amount of money Ranma brings in.
Back to the present, the reason Ranma was watching Samurai Deeper Kyo was that there was another anime convention today that he had to make a guest appearance in. His manager decided that if he did a bit of cosplay, his ratings would go up. Honestly Ranma didn’t care, but did it anyways (to prevent his manager from nagging). He decided to play the part of Kyo, for today’s events. Besides afterwards he had a kendo tournament he had to attend to.
The anime finished and Ranma got his costume ready. He was just about to put on the finishing touches when his mother called out…
