Restart Point Ranma: Of course you know, Genma's going to try and take the credit. [Episode 54551]

by Lord Void

Let us skip ahead, just a few years.

Genma never got his training trip, and so decided to make do with training Ranma at home. Nodoka kept a close eye on him, especially after she came across a certain martial arts manual containing the Neko-ken training (fortunately Genma had only gotten so far as starting to dig the pit, otherwise it would have been Genma sashimi.) That isn't to say that Genma didn't get to push Ranma's training, just that Nodoka prevented his worst mistakes, and stupider training methods.

The training trip was still a sore point for Genma, as he was certain that, as good as Ranma was now, he could have been ten times the martial artist if they had only gone on that trip. He also considered Ranma's playing those video games and reading manga as being an impediment to his becoming a great martial artist.

Boy is he about to get surprised!

"Hundred Hand Slap!" Ranma called out, and for a few moments, it was as if the boy had grown almost a hundred arms, each one hitting his father with a open palm strike.

It had been several years since Genma had been the target of such an attack, not since he and Soun had been able to imprison their dread Master (unless you counted that last time Nodoka had caught him doing something extremely stupid) but he still retained some of the toughness that his years of abuse had given him, and was merely stunned for a moment.

"Ranma, what was THAT?! where did you learn that technique?" Genma gasped in astonishment.

"It's E.Honda's Hundred Hand Slap." Ranma replied with a grin.

"Just who is this E.Honda, and what business does he have teaching 'my' son martial arts?" Genma asked with a growl. There was no way he was going to let anyone but him take the credit for his son's martial arts skills!

Ranma rolled his eyes. "Pops, E.Honda is one of the characters in my video games!"

Now Genma was confused. "If he's a video game character, how did he teach you that technique?"

"He didn't! No one did! I came up with it myself!" Ranma laughed. After a moment, he noticed that his father was frozen with a look of astonishment on his face. Taking this as a sign that practice was over, Ranma went back into the house, leaving his stupified father in the yard.

When Genma's brain eventually rebooted, he was confronted with the memory of his son pulling off a technique he had copied from one of his video games. It was incredible, it was impossible, it was... well, you get the idea.

"This can only mean one thing," Genma said calmly. "I am the greatest sensei in the universe! Even with all this soft living, my son has the ability to create his own ki attack by himself!" He cried out, and then began to congratulate himself on his fine job.

Okaaaaayyyyyyyy........
