A few hours after the pep talk, everyone returned from the various things they were out doing. And, of course, all were given the news.
It had hit Theo and Julia the hardest. They spent close to the rest of the day with her. Their encouragement to find the problem seemed to have more effect than the pep talk she had been given by Ranma, Brianna, and Britanny.
The others felt the same as Theo and Julia, but not wanting to slow down her work on finding a cure, they held themselves back so she could get to work. On the third day, Penny had come to lend her assistance as she was becoming noticably weak.
The problem was without detailed information about how the transformation worked, she was flying blind. She had done several scans on the transformations of Ranma(Tekkaman Anubis), Britanny(Tekkaman Tempest), and Brianna(Tekkaman Gunnar).
Unfortunately it had lead to no answers. All she had a vague idea of the composition of the energy a Tekkaman possessed, but that was it.
That led her to take various tissue samples from herself and the others to see if THEY yielded some answers.
All she found was that her own samples were degrading at a severe rate.
Then she looked a little closer... "What the..?"
Analyizing the sample(which was one of the samples she took from herself), she found the energy that she had sampled during the transformation. But when she magnified the sensitivity of the scanner, she saw the amounts of energy were far higher in her own tissue samples than those of the others. "This is it... If I can just figure out a way to reduce the amount of energy that's caught in my cells I can at LEAST stop the degradation... And after that a regen tank is all I'll need to fix the damage... But how to fix that...?" It was then that her eyes fell on the samples taken from the others. "Of course! I can use their own tissue samples as a source material to adjust the amount of energy... I'll need Penny's help to get this set up."
Currently, Penny was upstairs filling everyone in on their progress. As Gina got up from her chair to get to the intercom, she quickly became acquainted with the floor. "I do NOT need this now..."
Just this morning, she had been able to walk, thoguh barely. Now she couldn't move her legs at all, and she was forced to drag herself to the intercom.
It was then that the first BIG pain of her exclusion struck... The techno-organic circuits left by the process glowed on her skin and a severe pain filled her entire body. It was like somebody was dropping a twenty-ton weight on her over and over and over. Unable to move due to the pain, she could only scream and try to hold on to her life until it passed.
Gina was running out of time. FAST.
