" So far the 'die instantly' worst-case sceniro has passed, but it still doesn't help ease this pit in my stomach that it could STILL blow up in our faces." Penny mumured quietly to herself.
She turned her attention to the progress meter, 96% complete, only 4% left, when the timer went off, Gina would be fine, stilled doomed, or dead. Soon the readings reached 100% and the tank light up as the gel-like material spilled out into a disposal collector, then water gushed into the tank cleaning Gina up, and then flushed out.
Penny bit her lip as she opened the tank, with a tentive, shaky hand she touched Gina's neck to find a pulse.
She found one and the breath she was holding was let out, then Gina began to stirr. Her eyes blinked and opened slowly, alinging things into focus, or trying too until her glasses were put on her face.
" Ugh, wha?"
" Welcome back to the world of the living girl..." Penny said with a smile and tears flowing down her face. She hugged Gina tightly, relieved beyond all belief that the cure worked.
Smiling and returning the hug, Gina hefted herself up with Penny's help out of the tank. She found to her delight while still a tad weak all her motor functions had returned and no pain flared.
" It worked, by God it really worked." Gina mumured to herself.
Penny nodded, then blinked. " Uh Gina, there's well, brown spots in your hair now?"
Gina looked at Penny questioningly who handed her a compact mirror. Gina looked and indead cheetah-like spots were in her hair. " Oh, might be a side effect of Brit or Brianna's DNA from the samples we used. Nothing major."
" Good, so shall we go anounce the good news?"
" Sure, just limme redress, I don't want to walk upstairs and flash everyone while I'm in my underwear."
