Here Ranma Saotome had gone on to become quite the hero. Pegasus Saint Ranma, a champion who had defended the Earth! After the battle over Beryl's island, and the Midgard Serpent, Ranma had gotten involved in a truly epic Good Vs Evil battle.
Not only had Ranma's side won, but he'd reconciled a number of girls who became lovers. A little more free to come and go than if they'd been wives or something, but they did stick around for many long years.
It was now 2014. Cyberdyne and their lift platforms had given humanity a cheap way of reaching space at $50/ton.
Ranma had several sons and daughters via his girlfriends, and Ranma found he was his own son.
How very odd.
He was to go get his own personacom today, one of the benefits of being the son of a great hero and ally of the company that made the machines.
Though this was hardly a utopia. The Lagrange colonies and Jovian complexes and the like were talking of seperation. Like Crystal Tokyo on the Moon - of becoming their own sovereign states.
A couple of these were getting very militant and there was talk of sabotage and piracy from some of the Asteroid colonies. Alliances crisscrossed crazily in space, and it looked as though a war might break out at any time.
Ranma looked into the mirror, seeing his reflection completely for the first time. He wasn't Ranma anymore, he was the son of Ranma, he was:
