"So... we're all here," drawled Ukyo, "Together again."
"We do happen to be in possession of eyes Kuonji," growled Kodachi.
The chef sniffed. "I know that, but it still feels a bit odd to be like this."
"Too true," agreed Shampoo, "Feel very strange."
Rolling her eyes, Kodachi sneered. "After all this time, you'd think that you would be able to learn proper Japanese."
"Sure. Shampoo learn lot when she have to deal with problems."
"You have problems too?" asked Akane.
"Who not? Shampoo can say what she do, but how do it bring great dishonor. Some notice. Think Shampoo have done bad thing, and no trust her."
"And why would they think that?" asked Kodachi, "You did do something."
"Is your fault! You not start it, I no have to do what I do!"
"Cool it!" snapped Ukyo, "We did what we did, and there's no going back. Not now. Not ever."
"She's right," allowed Akane, "With what we have done, we can not allow ourselves to fall apart like this."
"Whoah... Since when have you become so calm sugar?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing. But you're right. We got to them, and it's done. We had done what we had set out to do then."
With a glance at the table top, Kodachi nodded. "That is the truth. Our actions led us to that result, and we managed to accomplish what we had set out to do."
"But you do remember what we agreed to."
"Certainly. I can not forget something like that, especially during the circumstances we find ourselves in. Though I do find it... disheartening to have to hear my brother prattle on about his 'lost love'."
"Yeah," commented Akane, as memories of Kasumi's occasional saddness, and the odd looks that she had gotten from Nabiki, among other similar incidents. "But I don't know why he won't leave me alone."
"He fears that he will lose you as well."
"He'd have to have had me to lose me, the moron."
"That he is. And you Kuonji? What troubles have you had?"
Ukyo shrugged. "Whispers, mainly. Talk about how strange it was for... what everyone thinks happened."
"We did do what we had to," the rich girl said.
"Yeah... we did."
All four women were quiet while:
