Outlaw Celestials: Dinner [Episode 57310]

by Thrythlind

"AHHH!" Jim snapped irritably. "What the heck is he doing?"

Melfina blinked and came into the room where Jim was going over accounts and looking into the petty cashbox. He was fuming mad, his face flushed red with irritation.

"What's the matter?" Melfina asked.

"Gene!" Jim said irritably. "He emptied the petty cash when he left with Aisha! There was over three-thousand wong in there. Just what are they going to do with all that?!"

Had Suzuka not already left for her own home she could have educated him. But even if she were present, she probably would have chosen to leave things quite.

"This is a good view," Aisha noted, she hadn't had the chance to see it the last time she was here.

"Yes, madam," the waiter said in a prissy French accent. "With a nice sandy beach only a few minutes away."

"That's nice," Gene said, looking suspiciously at the waiter for a moment.

"Are madam and monsieur ready to order?" the waiter asked, looking down through his nose at the scruffy, scared outlaw and the Ctarl Ctarl girl.

"Yes," Aisha said. She opened her mouth to speak further.

"Very good," the waiter said, cutting her off and turning to Gene. "And what would you like, sir? We do have several noodle dishes you...might be familiar with."

Gene frowned at the implication of his unsophistication and, not really in the best of moods as it was, sat up a little straighter.

"I'll order after Aisha," Gene said.

"The...lady will be ordering for herself then?" the waiter asked with a suppressed sneer.

"Well, I can't trust him to do it for me," Aisha grumbled.

"Very well then, madam," the waiter said with a long suffering sigh. "What would you like?"

"I'd like the kam ja tang and...

"The kam ja tang is for four people, madam," the waiter said. "Might I suggest the tuna instead?"

Gene leaned forward and narrowed his eyes further.

"No I want the kam ja tang," Aisha said impatiently. "And..."

"The tuna is quite exceptional, madam," the waiter interrupted. "I assure you."

"Whatever, I want the kam ja tang," Aisha said. "And..."

"Well, if the tuna is not satisfactory," the waiter said, interrupting her again. "Perhaps the fowl of the day would be more to your liking?"

"I don't want foul anything," Aisha said. "I want kam ja tang..."

"That is a very harsh dish and not suitable to most diners," the waiter said. "We do have a very fine chicken today. Perhaps we could fry it for you?"

"I know what it is!" Aisha said. "It's almost got some flavor too it unlike a lot of this bland, human...OOOO...Maine lobster!"

Gene flinched at the mention of that dish, probably brought from Earth and outrageously expensive, but quickly turned his attention back to the waiter as the supercillious man spoke again.

"Very well, madam," he said sighing heavily. "Will that be the lobster or the kam ja tang?"

"Two lobsters, kam ja tang and for the opener..."

"Might I suggest curds and whey?" the waiter said pointedly.

"No, I'd like..."

"Oh, how about cream of corn then?" the waiter asked.

"I'd rather..."

"There is an excellent clam chowder," the waiter suggested.

Gene was about to cut in on the insulting and racist man but Aisha snapped before he could.

"Just give me the toen jang chige and stop suggesting?!" Aisha demanded.

"As you wish," the waiter said. "And for a drink might I suggest a cream soju as madam so obviously enjoys Korean cuisine."

"That does it!" Gene shouted standing up and grabbing the waiter by the collar.

"Monsieur, unhand me this instant!" the waiter demanded.

"What do you think you're doing?" Aisha demanded. "You aren't getting away from this by starting a fight!" Gene didn't seem to be listening.

"I tolerated the little remark about noodles, asshole," Gene said. "But I'm not going to sit here and listen to you make any more of these recommendations!"

"Gene Starwind," Aisha said coolly. "What are you going on about."

"I am only offering dishes that I think madame would enjoy," the man said.

"Cream soju?!" Gene snapped. "That doesn't even exist! Look, Aisha, every recommendation he's made has involved fish, birds and milk so far. Give him a chance and he'll be asking you if you'd like a mouse as an appetizer. And started the entire thing off with a reference to a litter box."

"Making up some..." Aisha paused and considered the recommendations in her head again. "Move, Starwind, I'm going to rip his arms off!"

"Is there a problem here?" a new man asked, rushing onto the scene. Gene recognized that it was probably the manager and immediately turned to face him, dragging the the offensive waiter around as he said so.

"Yeah!" Gene said. "Your waiter here is a racist, little pig. He keeps making recommendations for the lady and doesn't seem to want to hear what she wants to say."

"Shut up, Starwind," Aisha growled.

"Well, Duchaisse?" the manager said, an irritable look in his eyes. "Is this the case?"

"I was only making what I believe to be suggestions appropriate to the quality of the clientelle," the waiter protested.

"I see," the manager said with a dark expression. He turned to face Gene and Aisha with an apologetic countenance. "Please accept your meal free of charge as an apology."

"Fine, thanks," Gene said with a smirk, pushing the jerk away. "We'll do that. And maybe you can get some better waiters."

A few minutes later Gene was sitting victoriously across from a still irritable Aisha.

"Well," Gene said. "I showed him didn't I!"

"You're not getting out of this," Aisha said between bites, deflating Gene in an instant.
