"Let me guess, you just said something along the line of 'I don't care what happens to that baka'?" Nabiki addressed her currently canine sister.
"Look, I'll tell you people straight, while I'm curious about the whole 'mortal lover' angle - especially about hearing about Belldandy and her engineering student over at Nekomi Tech - I'm not inclined to pursue Ranma Saotome - at least personally," said Eilistraee.
"Her nose didn't grow," observed Ukyo.
"So you acknowledge my superior claim to Ranma-sama, and know your place, peasant?" Kodachi asked imperiously.

Everyone, including Soun and Genma, looked up at the storm clouds that hadn't been there a moment ago and took one step away from Kodachi.
"It is understandable," said the oblivious Kodachi. "For no one could possibly stand against a Kuno's superiority." (grow) Kodachi was momentarily distracted by the sight of her nose growing an additional inch.
k-thoooom!
Nabiki looked into the little crater with the smoking Kodachi imbedded in the bottom. "Now that she had coming."
"As I was saying, I am not inclined towards Ranma Saotome personally. If I were to emulate the goddess Belldandy and take a mortal lover for a mortal lifetime, it would be someone rather like Belldandy's mortal. Intelligent, brave but not foolhardy, sensitive enough to be caring but not so much as to be a doormat, a caring heart and a quick mind," Eilistraee explained. "Someone who knows what he wants and is pursuing his own path. Someone who can show that he cares without violence or insults being the coin of his regard. In short - someone completely unlike Ranma Saotome."
"Hmmm, that makes sense," said Nabiki, making mental note of the names.
"That's completely different from Ranma-kun," agreed Kasumi.
"Dark-skin girl have point," said Shampoo who was willing to concede the point when there were truth spells and bolts from above involved.
"Grrrr. Whine? Roof?"
"Yes, there really are guys like that out there," Eilistraee assured Akane.
"Hmmmm," said Ukyo speculatively. "Well, Ranma-honey has his good points too."
"Gee thanks," said Ranma, feeling like merchandise moved to the clearance aisle for some reason.
"Yes. Well, in order to meet the details of the contract, I must choose or appoint an avatar. Someone who will have a trace of my divine essence and will carry out my responsibilities here. The most obvious effects are that your youth will last centuries, curses and health problems removed, greater strength and vitality, being able to detect supernatural evil - that sort of thing." Eilistraee looked over the girls again. "I am the Dark Maiden. The Sword Dancer. Mine is the portfolio of good drow, of swordcraft, of dance and fighting the good fight. I have many enemies and many allies. Mine is the banner of those who are heroes even if they are unfairly judged in return. If one of you volunteers, you will become drow elf and become my avatar in this world. Will one of you step forward?"
