"Not any more," the Clerk told him with a sigh of exasperation, "Now they're Ranma's pets. End of story. No human heirs from them what so ever."
"But that can't be," complained Genma, "What of our plans?!"
"Not possible as you want them now."
"Can we reverse that?" asked the Tendo patriarch.
"Let me ask the girl's spirits." The Clerk entered a sort of trance, though he knew that they would refuse since they had been changed and accepted by their owner. Reaching out to the trio, he attempted to ask them the question that the fathers wanted. Their response was instant and insistant.
It also left the Clerk rather dizzy and crispy. "Strong willed girls you have there."
"What will we do?!" lamented Soun, "My daughters are lost forever!"
"I do not know, old friend," commiserated Genma, "Our dreams, ruined."
"There will not be a joining of the families!"
"And it is not like you have an Heir to take after when you are gone!"
"Yes... if only..."
"You had an heir..."
The Clerk just managed to sigh again while:
