"Yengtao?!" Ranma said. "You want me to go to Yengtao Temple?"
"Yes," Belldandy said. "For at least a stop-over."
"Huh?" Ranma blinked, and the view changed again to dark haired man with an eye-patch as he kills a simple librarian with a thrown knife.
"The Yengtao Temple is an transdimensional reference point," Belldandy said as if repeating from a text. "It has variations on all realities populated by humans, all the alternate Earths and many other worlds. The Yengtao temple upon the world I'm showing you was betrayed and destroyed several years ago within its timeline. The man I am showing you is attempting to find the ruins and ressurrect the knowledge of the Yengtao so that his masters can found a new temple and use its secrets to train a horde of evil warriors."
"But if it exists everywhere, how can it be destroyed," Ranma asked. Belldandy was already shaking her head. "An' wouldn't the other temples kind stop somebody then?"
"No, it is a reference point, Ranma," Belldandy said. "Not a Nexus. Every dimension has its OWN Yengtao temple, and most are very similar. The human dimensions are close together at those points, they do not physically intersect."
"So all he's gonna find is some rocks, right?" Ranma asked.
"The point itself is not a Nexus," Belldandy said. "but dreams and thoughts can leak across the bounds. And in such a way do all the Yengtao Temples form, as people learn the arts of one temple in dreams and decide to found a temple to teach these arts that they have discovered. And our fear is this." she looked to the man in the eyepatch. "If one Yengtao is formed devoted to evil, how long will it be before those corrupt another Yengtao. Another strong similarity between the Temples is that they have always been firmly upon the side of the Heavens, but Hell would love to change that."
"So if they don't connect, why am I going to Yengtao anyway?" Ranma asked.
"Because the boundaries between worlds are weaker there," Belldandy said. Then she smiled. "And perhaps you'll find that in such places removing your presence with the Umisenken might have certain effects."
"You want me to use the Umisenken?" Ranma said in disbelief.
"And leave the scrolls with Yengtao," Belldandy said. "Provided you succeed, the Yengtao temple would be an exceptional guardian for such arts, as well as helping to insure that the arts are never lost in case that they are one time needed. Then stop this man, learn who his masters are, and stop them as well."
"So, umm," Ranma said. "When do I head out, an where is it?"
((AN: This is from the Champions roleplaying game, the Man in the Eyepatch is given no name or stats and left to the gamemaster to design...he is hiring other powerful martial artists as well))
