Soun Tendo kneeled in his spot for a moment, breathing heavilly. Soun looked up at the group of students gathered in his Dojo. "And that is the Tendo Shun-Puu-Ken. 'The Tendo Spring Wind Punch'. Now remember class, we'll be starting training for that tomorrrow, and start with testing the move on wood planks next weekend."
"Hai, Sensei!" The grouping of students said.
Smiling a little, Soun said. "Good. That's enough for today, students. I'll see you all in two days. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!"
"HAI SENSEI!" Came the sound from all the students gathered. They then started to pile on out of the Dojo.
Watching his students leave, Soun smiled. They weren't much now, definitely nothing like his last graduating class, but he could see that they all had some potential. "They just need to tap into it."
Soun sighed as he stepped outside of the Dojo once his students had left. It was a beautiful day, to be sure, but today was an anniversary. The day he and Genma had sealed away the demon... "And became enemies forever more..."
Soun shook his head. He and Genma had suffered together under the tyranny of their 'master'... It had been quite a celebration... "But then Genam tries to take all the credit..."
Growling, Soun wondered where Genma got off on trying to take the credit for coming up with the plan of getting rid of the master. Soun had thought it up first, by himself! It was he that had gotten rid of Happosai!
Now, one would think that Genma and Soun would be happy to just be rid of Happosai, but one has to consider how much those two drank that night as well. Even the stupidest of suggestions would be taken seriously. But since Genma decided to gloat, before bringing up the idea of an engagement to Soun...
"We are destined to be rivals!!!" Soun bellowed as he held his arms high into the air.
Nabiki, a first-year college student, and student of the Tendo School of Anything Goes, shook her head in disgust. She was sitting on the veranda of the house, trying to study for an upcoming exam... And then her father came out into the backyard, ranting again. "It's that time of the year again, isn't it, Kasumi?"
Lifting down her cup of tea, Kasumi looked over at Nabiki. "Now Nabiki, you should know daddy takes this timeof the year very seriously."
Nabiki nodded her head. Kasumi was always the level-headed one, and a very skilled practitioner of the Anything Goes Style, as well as a nurrsing student. She could see into a situation better than anyone Nabiki knew. "Still, I just wish daddy wouldn't get so stressed. You know he has a heart-condition."
"Yes, but I told you, Nabiki, father loves his art with all his being..." Kasumi said. "And he won't give that up for anything."
Nabiki frowned. "He better... Or he'll end up with mom sooner than he expects."
Watching her father start doing katas at rapid speed, Kasumi just nodded her head. "Agreed."
Nabiki sighed. She wished she knew who this 'Genma Saotome' was. She would kick his ass just to calm her father down... But it's not like she had a network of spies that could give her all the information she needed...
"Yes Saotome?"
"Where's your wife? I haven't seen her yet."
