She was dressed as a common merchant, her vibrant purple hair hidden under a black wig. She disliked having to hide herself like this. To act like a untrained moneycounter from the empire was almost more than she could stand. But as far as surrendering her pride was concerned, she'd already done much worse. She could deal with this for a little while.
The second reason for her annoyance was the fact that she needed a disguise to return to her homeland.
If the word had reached the Amazons, which it very well may have done, then she would be killed on sight. Unfortunately, someone had to check the various tribes around Jusenkyo to see if Ranma had sent his children that way. Certainly, he couldn't have reached them himself, but he could have had them escorted.
The Byankala region tribes were some of the few of Ranma's connections that were in fixed positions. Eliminating them from the list of those that protected the children would leave only Shinnosuke and Akane was seeing to that.
If neither of them had the children...well...then that would mean Ranma and Misao had left their children with one of the more nomadic of Ranma's acquaintances and then things would get...difficult.
