To be honest, she had truly hoped that Ranma would choose her. After living for ten years as a boy because of what he and his father had done to her, that there was a chance that she could have what she had dreamed of as a child was something that she couldn't pass up. She had discovered that he was generally clueless about things, but as long as he had left out at least the possibility of marrying her that was all right.
So she had settled down and given up on her quest of vengence. For the first time in ten years she could actually hope for a happily ever after. Dreams of having a resturant where they could create meals and a family together had filled her days and nights. Even with her rivals, she could allow herself to belive that in the end she would have that happy life.
But in the back of her mind had always lurked the fear that it was just a false image. That she really was that girl that the other kids had said would never get married and the adults looked upon with sad faces. It was the one thing that she had lived with for ten years before she had met up with Ranma again, and with his words, she had hoped to finally put it to rest. With marriage would come the confirmation that she wasn't too unwanted to be wed.
And when Ranma had married Misao, her carefully constructed hopes and dreams had come down with a crash. In a single act he had rejected her and confirmed what she had always feared. He had confirmed that he was no better than his father and had never wanted her at all. She had just been an easy source of food and companionship to him and nothing more.
So she had taken up her vengence quest again and nothing he would say would have swayed her this time. She would even work with her rivals if that was what it took to accomplish their mission.
However, their plans didn't go quite right, and now they were forced to go on the run. That was something that she was sure that she could handle. After all, how hard could it be to find someplace to hide.
Not only for herself, but of where the children were. Ranma had left them behind, and Ukyo was sure that she would find them. When she did, she knew what she had to do, though she did entertain the notion of taking them and raising them herself. The idea of having Ranma's children as her own did have some... just irony as she felt.
Either way, she was going to get to them, as she avoided the police while:
