Not only that, but she had liked Ranma, unmitigated fool that he could be. He was an individual who was not only dedicated to the Art, but enjoyed it. Even with all that had happened through his life, he had refused to bow down and be depressed. Instead, he had gone out and done what he could, even if only tried to get better if forced to. And his wife had been a rather amusing child from what she had seen of her.
With her own line having lost its only surviving member due to her great-grandaughter's actions, there was little that was waiting for her in her village. Her position would still be there, but for her that was a cold comfort. After she died, her line of her clan would be gone, and the closest relative was a second cousin at best.
But she could be of great use to these children that Ranma had left behind. They would likely have inherited their parents' skills, and she could teach them much, even if she never taught them a single Amazon secret. Plus... she had wanted to hear the pitterpatter of little feet again. Children of the village were always treating her with the 'respect' that her position incurred, but she wanted to hear a small voice call for her with affection in the tones.
Having made her decision, she went about see how she could find the children. Her skills in that regard were not minor and protecting them from those that would harm them was something that she could easily manage. All she had to do was locate them.
So she began her own search while:
