Ryouga cocked a suspicious eyebrow at the strange look on Ranko's face and kicked her off of him. "Would you knock that off? It's creeping me out!"
Taken by surprise that even shocked herself, Ranko flew back, but easily caught herself on a shingle on the edge of the roof.
Glaring once again at the fanged boy, Ranko yelled, "Jus' what do ya think yer doin', idiot?!"
Ryouga pointed down at her. "Who's the idiot? You were the one giving strange looks. I bet you were just trying to catch me off guard, but--"
Before Ryouga could finish his paranoia-filled explanation, there was the clink of the single suddenly breaking lose. His eyes widened as the red-head began to fall. Ranko, naturally, wasn't panicking at the moment, she was just making a quick survey. Her survey came up empty. There simply wasn't anything to grapple to. Just a bland, flat wall and the yawning ground beneath her.
Looking down at the ground, Ranko thought, Normally I could jump out of a window and still land fine, but... I didn't jump from the roof, I fell... It's a whole different story, but maybe I can manage it!
She positioned her body to brace for the impact, but she felt a pressure from behind and a weightlessness envelop her. Feeling the air on her face, Ranko knew that she had been caught, but by who? Looking up, she saw Kunou Tatewaki lighted by the moon. He landed without a sound.
Annoyed, Ranko said, "Yes, thank you. Can you put me down?"
Kunou looked down at her and said, "Doesn't the hero receive a kiss when he saves a damsel?"
Ranko clocked him across the face. "Who the hell are ya callin' a damsel?!"
She jumped out of the stunned Kunou's arms and then a second later Ryouga jumped down from the roof of the building. He looked at her and asked, "Are you okay?"
"Fine, fine! Just a little fall." Ranko said, dismissing the concern with her hand.
Suddenly recovering from Ranko's punch, Kunou unsheathed his bokken and pointed at Ryouga. "You! You were the one who pushed the Pig-tailed Girl from the roof! I saw it!!"
"It was an accident," Ryouga replied curtly.
Per normal, Kunou simply wasn't listening. "I won't forgive anyone who puts the Pig-tailed Girl in harms way! Prepare yourself!"
