It was a place villagers avoided at all cost. Money, time, matters of life and death -- none were important enough to break the taboo of the Purple Hill. People were afraid, and rightly so, for those who got close enough to the forbidden mansion atop it and heard the siren's call never came back. Travellers brave enough to tread near the mansion would tell stories of ghosts and monsters they saw there; stories that got repeated in hushed whispers. That only added to the mystery shrouding the place.
One girl, however, was brave enough to approach the mansion. Many had tried to stop her, thinking she had gone mad. She had just smiled at them all, and with her innate honesty told them kinly that she felt her destiny was pulling her towards it.
