Thieves and Ninjas: Hiring Fools [Episode 61539]

As Mousse stood there, the woman stared at him, her mouth pursed into a frown. From her expression he could tell that she wasn't pleased, but he couldn't tell why. It wasn't as if he had ever met her before, and he was certain that he would have remembered something like that. So it couldn't be like he had done anything to her that would require displeasure on her part.

"You're not looking for a permanent job?" she asked.

"No," he replied with a shake of his head, "I only need some funds so that I can continue on my quest."

"Then you only want to work for a short time."

"That's about it. I can't be held down to one thing at the moment."

"Hmm... I'm not sure, but..."

"'But'?"

"I am in need of some sort of assistance. Not for long, mind you, but someone to do some manual labor for the time that I am in this area."

"Really?"

"Yes, but if I hire you, it would only be for that time, and you would have to do everything that I say."

"Agreed."

"Then I guess you're working for me now."

The mostly blind boy grabbed her hand and shook it as he smiled broadly. "Thank you, thank you! This is a big help and I'm sure that you won't regret it!"

"I already do."

"Huh?"

"Let go of my hand. And if you ever touch me again, I will shove your glasses down your throat before I fire you."

He dropped her hand, and stepped back a bit. "Sorry. I won't do it again."

"Good. Now get to work moving those boxes to the back," she told him.

"Sure thing," he told her as he scurried off to do as he was told.
