"Misato said that they need to eat or they have to go back into the ring every night. The only way to do that is to make wishes and let some of the magic flow into them."
Shinji moved his left hand over the ruby and stopped.
"Asuka doesn't seem to care for being a genie," Shinji whispered to himself. "I wonder what she's going to say when I start making wishes and giving her orders, so she can stay out of her gem longer."
Shinji shook his head. "I have three genies and I have no idea what to wish for. I wonder what that guy at the store wanted me to do with them."
Shinji stood up and looked around the apartment. He went into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator.
"I know what I can order Misato to do. She can clean up the apartment and get food that isn't beer."
Shinji closed the frig and sat down at the table. "I think it might be best if I just wish that Misato not to drink any beer while she's my genie. She gets to 'eat' while following my wish and she doesn't let something slip, because she can't get drunk."
Shinji nodded and wrote down the exact wording of the wish.
"Now, I need to think up wishes for Rei and Asuka."
Shinji glanced at the sapphire. "Rei doesn't seem to mind being a genie. I guess I can make wishes for my own beneift with her. As to Asuka, I have no idea."
