It is important to consider the motives behind this man's actions to imagine what might come next. In this case the man in question was...

...merely trying to keep his employees happy while they worked there, not trying for a permanent staff or anything ecchi...
as above, plus, he considers himself a matchmaker (besides, if they hold the wedding reception there, it's worth a lot more money to him)
as above, plus he doesn't consider the possibility of non-standard gender preferences...
...he is a do-gooder that believes Ranma is unhealthily unaccepting of her body...he'd probably still agree if he knew about the curse...but at least he'd tone down things a bit...
...he is something ecchi...
something else...
