"Say, Nabiki, can I talk to ya?"
"Sure, Ranma," the girl smirked. "While you're at it, you can pay up out of this weeks wages. It's your first payday, isn't it?"
"That's what I wanted to talk to ya 'bout," Ranma replied.
"Oh, here it comes," Nabiki smirked. "Let me guess, you quit your job and couldn't find a replacement. I knew you couldn't last. Well, there's the little matter of our bet so, one way or another, you're going to have to pay up. Now why don't ya go ghange into that bunny suit while I get my camera."
"Nah," Ranma denied. "That's not it. Being a bunny's not as bad as I thought, kinda fun in a way. Anyway, the thing is, I've already paid Kasumi."
Nabiki's smile slipped slightly. "You did what!? I mean, didn't your father explain how it works? You pay me so I can do the books. There was no need to bother Kasumi with it."
"About that," Ranma said, "I thought that since Kasumi does the shopping and stuff that she should be the one ta pay. So I gave her the amount ya asked for last week. Only, and here's the think, she was kinda surprised by how much that was. Seems that she was expecting a whole lot less. We had a rather ... interesting talk about it."
"You did what!?" Nabiki repeated. "Well, you see, there are household expenses, bills and things I don't bother Kasumi with ..."
"Uh, huh, so that's why Pop says he pays ya a lot more than you pass on to Kasumi each payday, is it? Strange though, Kasumi seems ta think she's been strugglin' ta pay all the bills 'round here."
"Yes, well, like I said, I didn't want to bother Kasumi with the details. She's got enough to worry about as it is..."
"Well, you're going to have to bother her about it now, cause I've told Pop he's gotta pay Kasumi from now on. She's also waiting for an explanation from ya. I figure that if ya don't have one ye're goin' ta have ta pay up."
"What, that's ridiculous!" Nabiki gasped then shrugged. "So I conned your Pop out of a few yen. It's no big deal."
"Nah, it is. It adds up, ya know. If it were just Pop, or me, ya fleeced, I'd let it slide. But Kasumi's had to skimp and save cause of what ya took from Pop. So yer goin' ta have ta make sure ya pay up."
"Oh, now I'm scared. What's the mean ol' martial artist going to do to me?"
