"That is my question for you, Asako," Kisada roared. "Do you think my son could have left on his own?"

"It is conceivable," Kimuri offered hesitantly. "But he surely someone would have stopped him in the halls, he'd be in terrible shape."

At that point voices could be heard coming down the hall, until both recognize Ranma speaking to...

• Tora, a rather small Kuni shugenja (Hotaru Tomoe counterpart)
• Mochiko, a rather shrewd observer from the Yasuki family and a fellow half-Crane (Barbara Gordon counterpart)
• some other series-counterpart....
• an original character
