"Ret's ro," said dog-girl Akane. "Ri rain't rafraid ro no ghrosts!"
Ranma was still grinning ear-to-ear. "I was Akane's first word!"
"Oh my, she's certainly talkative now that she can speak," noted Kasumi.
"Akane is very clever doggie," said Shampoo, scritching Akane behind an ear.
"oooOOOOOooooo," said Akane, one leg twitching in response. Damn that felt good.
Nabiki put on her "mystery solving" glasses. "Okay. Time to put this ghost away. I've got a test coming up and we don't need that sort of distraction."
Nobody noticed that Nabiki's role had just shifted from "Yakuza wannabe" to "girl with glasses" paranormal investigator.
Nobody except Akane, that is. "Ruh?"
"Well let's go deal with that ghost," said Ranma.
